Marie Force is one of those author's that I automatically hit the pre-order button without giving it a second thought. Why? Because I know I'll be in for a real treat, no matter what. Her characters are not perfect, in any way shape or form. In fact; most of them come along with some really heavy baggage. But the good people of Gansett Island are always so willing to step up to the plate, and help them get through those trying times. Does it always work? No, not by a long shot! They have had their fair share of tragedy over the years, but that's what makes this whole series seem so real. It not always a HEA story for some of these people.
This book, just like all the others in this series, always makes me feel so warm and cozy inside. I love the fact that Marie writes this series with characters that are so warm and caring, and not only towards their own family members, but also with their close friends, as well as everyone else in the whole community. There are very wealthy families, very poor families, and everything in between living together on this Island, and yet no one is made to feel like they don't measure up. Instead; these wealthy families pull together to help those who happen to be less fortunate. What a wonderful world this would be, if we could find a way to make this happen in real life.
After reading all 12 books in this series so far, I still can't seem to get enough. Believe it or not, but I actually crave it. I can't wait to open the book and re-visit the people of Gansett, just to see what's been happening since we left them last. And Marie Force didn't disappoint in that aspect of this book, either.

Another awesome outing with the inhabitants of Gansett Island. Marie continues to engage us in the lives and happenings of the McCarthy's and their friends and families and keep us keen to return for more. Focusing predominantly on Katie & Shane this time, we did however get to check in with most of our favourites if only in passing. Once again a well written and well edited story. I'll definitely be back for more!

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!! I knew going in it would be a great book because all the rest of them are but I was still surprised by some of the twists. I have liked Shane since the beginning. I think katie was a great choice for him. I love catching up on all my favorite people in Gansett. I can't wait until the next book. This series is defiantly a must read.

I cried and laughed off and on throughout this book because I feel so connected to everyone since I've read it from the start. Shane and Katie are a good match. They have both had a lot of pain in life and are working through it. I hope everything turn's out happy for them. Shane is a hero and deserves to be happy finally.
I was so upset with the unexpected loss my heart hurt and I cried right along with everyone in the story. Big Mac Bless his heart he's just a big ol' teddy bear who's always there for his children.
I'm so happy about the new babies that are coming. Congratulations to the parents to be.
Of course it wouldn't be the same if "Girls Night" didn't get crashed by the men.
I'm glad to see she didn't over load this book like she did that last one. Looks like she finally listened to her readers. I've loved, loved, loved this series from the start. I've read every single book and after the last one I swore I wouldn't buy another. Marie refused to make the books longer so she crammed to much into it and really just ruined the story for me. I know I personally and others as well suggested making the story longer if she was going to keep going the books needed to get bigger or cover less people in them. She of course informed us it was a full length book.
So if you were like me and swore to never buy another lol I'm here to say it's safe to dive back into Gansett Island.

My favorite book family, the McCarthy's, no questoon about it! I want to be a McCarthy and live on this magical island. I have been looking forward to Shane's story for awhile now. He has seemed to have the weight of the world on his shoulders. So quiet. So sad. Utterly heartbroken. When he and Katie meet in such a dramatic fashion, I knew their story would be one-of-a-kind. Katie was more of a mystery, since we hadn't gotten to know her well yet. Being Owen's sister, we know she had a horrific childhood at the hands of her father. She has closed herself off from men, as a whole, to safeguard herself from being hurt. I can't imagine being 32 years old and never having gone on a date, let alone be kissed or anything more. These two have been through their own hell, and I think they are the only people capable of helping each other. Their story was sweet, romantic and full of passion. Besides the wonderful journey we go on with Katie and Shane, I felt like I also read a complete novel of updates for the rest of the characters. So many ups and downs for the residents of this island. I laughed and cried and held my breath for the outcomes. Kissses in the Dark is a beautiful, well-rounded novel for every character that we love from this series. Can't wait to continue this journey!
