Editorial Reviews

Review

"Spellbound contains two previously released stories and a third, new short story combined to form a novel set in a world of warlocks and their submissive familiars. Fans of Day's paranormal novels and the Crossfire series will love Spellbound. Day's latest has a BDSM storyline with a paranormal twist that can easily be read in one sitting. Between the exciting plot and the hot sex scenes throughout, Spellbound leaves readers wanting more!" - RT Book Reviews

"Hot, rough, and deeply sensual, this novel is a winning contribution to the supernatural erotic genre. Max and Victoria's bond as Warlock and Familiar is predicated on the dominant/submissive element of their relationship and also helps validate the savage intensity of their otherworldly passion. Overall, this is a hot read with a great backstory to match. Fans of Day's work (Bared to You; Entwined with You) will not be disappointed." - Library Journal

Customer Reviews

It was full of erotic sex and romance with a great story line.
Jami
It felt hurried and the main point seemed to be the steamy interludes between the H and h. Underdeveloped characters and a hurried story line.
Pat
She is Edgey....GreatRead can't wait to read the rest of this book.

I am a huge Sylvia Day fan. While she is known for her sexual plots this book lacked depth. It almost seemed as if she just threw this together. The repetitive sex scene was a bit overkill and honestly boring. Disappointed I pre ordered this and waited for what seemed like a beginner's novel.

First, they get into having sex too soon making the book more pornographic as opposed to erotic. They'd just met and she had her clothing off. No. This was in the first few pages. Not at all romantic, just rather vulgar. Just saying.

When readers hear Sylvia Day, they automatically associate her with the amazing Crossfire Series and the book boyfriend to end all book boyfriends, Gideon Cross. And me being a VERY big fan of the series was excited to read something else from the fabulous Sylvia Day. Spellbound was a good paranormal erotic romance that had great elements and some not so great. With all of the hype and high expectations from this author, I was expecting a little bit more out of Spellbound. Don't get me wrong, I do recommend this to romance readers, I just don't want you to think you are getting another hero like Mr. Cross.

We do, however, get Max Westin, who was a great hero in Spellbound. Ladies, don't worry, his possessive, sexy nature will get your motor running. I wasn't expecting the BDSM elements in this one, but I was so glad she incorporated that in this book. Max is a Hunter and by default he was also a Dominant. Once he sets his sights on Victoria, a beautiful, stubborn Familiar, he knew she was going to be the one to submit to him, no matter what it took.

❝ My pleasure is yours. My hunger is yours. ❞

Victoria lost her one and only love to pure evil, and she has yet to get over it. Stubborn, feisty, and powerful, there has yet to be anyone who can tame her and bring her to her knees. When Victoria lays her eyes on the gorgeous Hunter, she can't help but to have a little fun of her own. Little does she know that Max wants more from her. He wants her body, mind and soul, but is she strong enough to let someone else in her heart?

I will tell you one thing, Sylvia Day can write a scorching hot sex scene! I mean WOW! The storyline wasn't my favorite. It was lacking a little depth, but still kept me engaged the whole way through with some good paranormal suspense.

I'm not sure how to rate this one as its very different from other books by this author. I love Sylvia's writing but this didn't immediately grab me like her other books did. The end was gravitating, but it took force to get to that point. That being said, I do like Vanessa and Max...I would probably read a sequel if the story was continued.

Love Sylvia Day...but not this book. Couldn't wait for it's release date after having read her other books. Definitely not up to par.

I couldn't even finish this book. I am so disappointed in Sylvia Day. The description of the book didn't give any clue as to to the book was actually about.

The novel is too vulgar. Reading is a hobby of mine, but I started to send this book back, in my opinion it is awful. Poor literature, I really need my money back.
