I guess my life as a writer started when I was five; I'd sit under the kitchen table with my box of multi-colored wax crayons (I miss those) and create picture books. Creative writing was always my favorite subject and I used any free time I had to sit down with a notepad.
Not much has changed, except that now I have developed vampirish habits: my writing "day" typically starts at 1am.
I'm an avid reader and a big fan of cookie ice cream. When working I have to disconnect the internet for fear of being endlessly distracted by websites such as www.icanhas.cheezburger.com.

Oh my god! Gah, drama! This is what's happening to my head right now.
...Okay, that was a little incoherent I understand, bear with me I'm trying to put my head back together and having slightly better luck than Humpty Dumpty. A Shadow of Light by Bella Forrest is the continuation in the A Shade of Vampire Series and by far the most information packed book in the series yet. Bella is a doll and indulges my extreme love for this series with ARC's.
That being said, I don't want to give too much away, but I need to throw out a few small spoilers, so if you're super touché about them, skip this review. I promise nothing huge will be revealed, just tiny tidbits, honest.
First I absolutely love how Bella gave us some insight into Ingrid aka Camilla Claremont. I was so excited to see that we got a few chapters from her point of view as well as Aiden's and even Gregor, Derek's Father. We finally get to see how Aiden and Camilla met and what their story is. We get to see how and why Camilla became Ingrid and how this affected the people around her.
When all is said and done on the Camilla front, I've got to say I hate her. She's a heartless bitch.
I want to go all Buffy on her ass and stab her in the throat...
*coughs* That got a little serious...Moving on haha.
We all known how sad it was to see Derek leave Sophia in the last book (I tried to reach into the story and strangle him, but it didn't work).Read more ›

Wow! There is so much going on in this book, never a dull moment.
It was nice to get to know Claudia in this book. I have to admit, I didn't like her at first but she has redeemed herself. It was great to understand why she was so broken. In fact, there are a lot of broken people in this book. But a few of those broken people still need to redeem themselves.
I couldn't help but get a little aggravated at Sofia's parents. I somewhat see why her father did what he did but I am still suspicious of him. Just like he said, Derek has proven to Sofia that she can trust him. What has her father shown her to earn her trust. Her mother, don't get me started. Maybe we can get more of her story in the next book. There was a hint there is more to her past than we know.
The focus of this book isn't totally on Derek's and Sofia's relationship. It is more about the relationships of others: Sofia and her parents, Derek and his father, and Claudia and Yuri.
I found this book really hard to put down. I was sucked right in. There was all these new people's point of views and we get to see so much into their lives. The way it has everything set up for the next book, book 5 will be awesome! I can't wait!
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I can't get enough of The Shade! A Shadow of Light was yet another amazing installment in A Shade of Vampire series. The stakes were even higher; the conflict was even more impossible. There is never a dull moment, a lull, or a moment of predictability. Bella Forrest is on a roll with her books and this one does not disappoint!
The story began where A Castle of Sand ended. Sofia's reunion with her mother and father in hunter territory was less than traditional, but having her mother, Ingrid, and her father, Aiden, at the headquarters gave Sofia much needed to time to understand both of them. Each book in the series contains more points of view than the last, which I enjoy. I like getting into the heads of the characters and figure out what their motives are. In A Shadow of Light, added points of view were Ingrid Maslen, Aiden Claremont, Claudia, and even Gregor Novak.
Derek and Sofia were separated yet again in A Shadow of Light. Derek's conflicts at the Shade were growing exponentially and I had no idea how Sofia would get back to the Shade without Derek's help. Sofia's situation at the Hunter Headquarters felt just as hopeless as she tried to convince her father that she wasn't brainwashed and how her relationship with Derek is real. How would the two of them fight preconceived notions and work together? I thought everything at the end of A Castle of Sand was a mess, but A Shadow of Light proved me wrong. Though the conflicts had no easy resolution, I felt like they were plausible and the story doesn't just throw them out of nowhere.
As always, I'm incredibly invested in the story and the characters. I never thought I would care about the motivations of Ingrid or Claudia, but their added points of view gave me tons of perspective.Read more ›
