I really hate this because I check publishing dates on favorite authors so I do not waste money. Beware AMAZON and publisher am going to order samples now if this ploy is continued. Retreads are not good. Advertise a re=release as such instead of as a NEW RELEASE.

First released in 2003, these stories are numbers 3 and 4 in the tale of the 5 Devaney Brothers who were separated at a very young age when their parents inexplicably abandoned the three older boys and disappeared with the twins. To make matters worse, the older three were split up and sent to different foster homes resulting in varying experiences for the boys and making each determined to protect their hearts at any cost knowing that for them, love means pain. The two oldest Ryan and Sean find one another and decide that maybe it's time to seek out the other brothers and attempt to find some closure in their lives. Their stories are combined and released as book one of three entitled The Devaney Brothers: Ryan and Sean. Book number two is The Devaney Brothers: Michael and Patrick. Book three in the trilogy chronicles the story of the fifth and and last brother Daniel and will be released on May 27, 2014. Readers of the first two books will be anxious to learn what could have possessed these parents to so cruelly abandon their three oldest sons. So far I can't come up with any acceptable reason, so I'm anxious to see how Woods resolves this heart wrenching story.

Michael is a Navy Seal who finds himself on the wrong side of a couple of bullets and before he knows what hit him, he's fighting for his leg and his future. Little does he know he'll soon be fighting for his heart as well. Right at his weakest, two men he barely remembers walk into his hospital room claiming to be his long lost brothers. Overwhelmed with everything going on in his life, Michael has one more surprise coming his way in the form of physical therapist Kelly Andrews. The younger sister of his best childhood friend, Kelly is all grown up and is a beautiful force to be reckoned with.

I have to say, she is also one of my favorite writers. This is one of three books that I am really enjoying and can't wait for the final book to come out. Brothers coming back together after being split up by their parents. Wonder why. Can't wait to read the last book.

I loved this series! It was a nice change from the typical "Boy meets girl, they hate each other, they love each other, they fight, they make up, they get married and live happily ever after. It was also about family, and sacrifice and forgiveness, and how people make bad choices when they're under pressure. The three oldest brothers must balance newfound love, brotherhood, and a shared pain from their parents betrayal, while the two youngest deal with something akin to survivor's guilt, as their parents kept them, but not their brothers. These books talk about real issues, and how a family recovers from such a trauma, even after 20 years apart. There are some mature themes, i would not allow my younger sister to read them, but even if just for easy reading, i would recommend this series to romantics like myself, and to anyone interested in a real story on the importance of family
