If you are a rabid Cam and Avery fan, or have not read Wait For You in a long while then this book is for you. This is essentially a retelling of Wait for You, but from Cam's POV. The vast majority of the conversations and dialogue are lifted straight from the first novel, and unfortunately since I had just finished Wait For You a few weeks ago this became very repetitive quickly.

Cam's perspective doesn't really offer anything new; there's no insights that you couldn't already infer from having read the first book. No really huge event that varies from Avery's story, either. The only difference is that the author spends a short period of time setting up for the next book in this series revolving around Jase and Theresa.

That's not to say this book is a terrible read; it's just not necessary. I loved Cam and Avery in Wait For You, but Trust In Me feels like a near exact duplicate of the story we already know and love. So I recommend this for fans whose memory maybe foggy on the events of the first story, or for fans who just want to squeal over Cam.

Publishing a retelling of your novel from another perspective is a popular thing this year. We had Walking Disaster, This Girl and many more. Apparently J. Lynn decided to join the crowd with novella Trust in Me, a retelling from male perspective of love story in her contemporary romance novel Wait for You.

I loved Wait for You and Cam was my favorite character there so I was excited to read the retelling from his point of view. But I think that decision to tell the story from Avery's point of view in original was a good one. Because when you don't have insight into her thought she sometimes looks like a total jerk and all you could think of is 'poor Cam'.

In the end Trust in Me sounded like a retelling of a book from a person who skips some (to her unnecessary) parts and makes the story more shallow. I looked forward to more Cam, but maybe it was better if I just simply re-read Wait for You.

Summary (from Goodreads):

It’s Wait for You as you’ve never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam’s side of the #1 New York Times Bestselling story.

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

What I Liked:

Remember in my review of Wait For You (oh yeah, I was THAT person), when I mentioned that I really liked Cam? Well, this book just emphasized that point. Cam has an incredible personality, an amazing voice, and a fine, fine body, I hear. *winks*

Trust In Me is basically Wait For You, in Cam's point-of-view. Yes, that is kind of waste of time, because you're not getting a new story from two characters, or the next installment in a series, or background about the characters. BUT, we get Cam's side of things, Cam's background, Cam's feelings, and so on.

First off let me say that this author can do no wrong in my book. Ok on to the important stuff which is....CAM!!!!!! and his total hotness :) I loved Wait for You but getting an inside look of Cam's mind had me swooning one minute and laughing my ass off the next, especially his conversations involving Ollie and Raphael. So if you have read Wait for You then I completely 100% suggest Trust in Me because let's face it...we can never get enough of Cam or his eggs lol

One of my favorite New Adult books is J. Lynn's WAIT FOR YOU (you can read my review here). I loved Cam from the moment Avery smacked right into him. Getting to read all the events that happened in Wait For You from Cam's point of view in this book did not disappoint. In-fact, reading this book made me love Cam's character even more. From understanding his persistence with Avery, finding out what really made him tick, the trust he wanted in his relationship with Avery, his relationship with his family, and friends, and knowing his thoughts and feelings really made this book just as good of a read as Wait For You was. For me, I didn't think that would have been possible.

Leave it up to Jennifer Armentrout to make me swoon all over again. Cam is one of those characters whom is going to be hard to beat when it comes to well written, swoon worthy characters. Really. Sure Cam is hot. He has the right moves, and the looks that could get him any girl he wanted, but, there's more to Cam than that. He's not a character who's egotistical. He has all the traits that make him a fabulous well rounded great guy. I love his honesty with those he has in his inner circle, his loyalty, the relationship he has with this sister and parents, and what he does for Avery. I loved getting to read about his thoughts and feelings about Avery. I saw Cam in a whole new light.

Cam and Avery. These two are perfect together. I love seeing how much Cam was effected by Avery from the moment of their first meeting down to how things end at the end of this book. No matter how trying or frustrating things got, he knew what he wanted with Avery, and he was damn sure he was going to get it. He did all sorts of things to get her to break, and give into him. I mean things that would make you weak in the knees.
