About the Author

Jennifer Ryan is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Hunted series and the McBride series. She writes romantic suspense and contemporary small-town romances featuring strong men and equally resilient women. Her stories are filled with love, friendship, and the happily-ever-after we all hope to find. Jennifer lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, three children, dog (Bella), and cat (Shadow). When she isn't writing a book, she's reading one. Her obsession with both is often revealed in the state of her home and in how late dinner is to the table. When she finally leaves those fictional worlds, you'll find her in the garden, playing in the dirt and daydreaming about people who live only in her head, until she puts them on paper.

I bought this book for 99 cents and was not expecting any great read. I figured it was a buck so who cares if it was really good or not. Plus this is an avon book so it really could not be good, right. Boy was I off base on this one. The book grabed me from the first page and would not let go. It was unbelievable the amount of emotions I felt with this authors writing. I could not put it down. I was laughing and crying and angry all in the first few chapters. I really am impressed with this author I purchased the next two books in this series before I even finished this book.

The book is basically about a woman who is hiding from her abusive ex-husband who enjoys playing cat and mouse with her. He is simply put a total nut bag. She then meets a rancher who falls head over heals with her at first sight. Then the story begins. The rancher trying to get this abused, scarred woman to trust him, and her ex trying to find her new hiding place so he can continue the game.

I have owned my Kindle for three years now and I read about 3 books every week. When a book is really good I put it in my favorites category and I only have 25 books so far that I have read that I think are good enough for that section of my Kindle. This book made it to that group of books it was really that good. I recommend buying this one and not to pass up a chance to read this talented authors writing. WELL DONE!!!!!!!

I have only just started reading romantic suspense, and really enjoyed Saved By the Rancher. The villain was creepily sinister, the heroine someone to root for and the hero easy to fall in love with. Looking forward to visiting Hidden Springs again soon in Book 2!

I really enjoyed this stoy about a smart, plucky woman who escapes a bad marriage only to have to go on the run when her former husband chases her down and beats her with alarming regularity. She takes refuge on a ranch with a wonderful family, falls in love with the super hot sexy rancher and would like to live happily ever after, but the ex keeps finding her. I thought the plot was excellent-I love a woman who keeps fighting and planning and waiting for her chance to beat the bad guy. The characters were wonderful, right down to the sweet, devoted dog. I recommend this book to lovers of romantic suspense-it won't disappoint!

Suspenseful, romantic, an even tempo are all characteristics of this book. As a result, I read into the wee hours of the morning to learn the clever resolution of the villain. David truly epitomizes our nation's problem with domestic violence. Romance, however, does prevail. Bravo, Ms. Ryan on your first book. I can't wait to read your upcoming books despite anticipating sleepless nights.

There were some good things about this book, I like our hero and heroine. But, the plot was textbook fairytale romance. I cannot believe that Jenna, with all her money, could not find guards that would protect her. I cannot believe that on the one day Jack and Caleb are off the ranch, her crazy ex can get past the guards and abduct her. I cannot believe that after her concussion, broken ribs and bruising that she gets up on her horse and goes for a ride to calm herself. I cannot believe that she and Jack are having sex 5 days after he rescues her and patches her up after her near fatal beating by her ex, especially since she has been hunted and abused by said ex for 5 years. All in all, too much I can't believe.

I loved this book. Jennifer Ryan does such a great job writing these characters, you really feel what they feel. Jack is every woman's knight in shinning armour. Jenna is a strong brave heroine. She has gone through more then anyone should, but still comes up kicking butt! The best part, you don't have to wait long for the romance. I love books were the couple's come together early and stay together. I have already pre-order the 2nd book. Can't Wait!

I will say this is not my favorite type of book. I really dislike reading about ongoing violence against women, throw in stalking and I usually will put it down and not finish it. That being said, I liked the characters and the writing style in this book. Occasionally the book dragged with repeat sections where Jack and Jenna, the main characters, declare their love for each other. I think the part I had the most problem with mentally is that I could see the same qualities in the hero, Jack, as in the villain, David. David stalked Jenna with increasing violence every time he found her, saying over and over that he just wanted Jenna to come back to him. Jack was paranoid about letting Jenna out of his sight, even to the point of saying "If you run again, I swear to God, I will find you and bring you back.....I can't live without you." To me, that is two sides of the same coin. I did think the writing was well done; it is strictly the subject matter that disturbed me.

I thought this book was great. The characters were people I cared about and I couldn't stop reading until I was sure everyone was alright. Went right out and bought the second book in the series and loved it just as much!
