Kristen is the author of the Amazon and USA Today bestselling With Me In Seattle series. She has a passion for a good love story and strong characters who are full of humor and a strong sense of loyalty and family. Her men are the alpha type; fiercely protective and a bit bossy, and her ladies are fun, strong, and not afraid to stand up for themselves.
Kristen spends her days with her muse in the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys coffee, chocolate and sunshine. And naps.
Kristen graced us with a New Years surprise but releasing Fight with Me! I curled up with a couple glasses of wine and my iPad and got straight to reading about Jules and Nate! It was a Happy New Year indeed!
The books takes us back to the night it all began. If you haven't read Come Away with Me the first in the series then you need to read it first. In the first book Jules tells Natalie that she had sex with her boss. The beginning of Fight with Me fills in all the details of the night that started their love story.
I already knew from the first book that I loved Jules. She's sassy and smart which are two of her best character traits in this book. She doesn't get pushed around growing up in a house with 4 brothers, she was trained to fight and protect herself. She doesn't need a man to protect her. Or Does She?
We know very little about Nate McKenna at the beginning of the book. Only that he has had an instant attraction to Jules, that they have had sex once, and he is her boss which means he is off limits! Nate is gorgeous and sexy and Jules has tried to maintain their professional relationship because according to their company's no fraternization policy she knows that he can never be hers. Or Can He?
Jules and Nate have maintained a professional relationship after their brief yet HOT and unforgettable encounter for almost a year. Apparently Nate has had enough of and tricks Jules into having a late meeting in his office under the pretense that they will be working on a problem account over the weekend. When dinner is delivered and Jules starts to inquire about the issues with the account Nate gets to the real meaning of this so called meeting! His proposition...Read more ›

I thought I was lucky to get Fight With Me and Come Away With Me for .99 each one day and quickly downloaded both. I now believe that there is something like TOO MUCH sex for a book. I compare it to eating Oreo's. The first two are delicious, but the more you eat, the more nauseous you get - no matter the variety of ways you try to eat them. Nate and Julianne go at it like rabbits and honestly, it is not love, just lust that is based on nothing but looks.
Nate and Julianne are playboy beautiful, rich, smart, exceedingly athletic, beautiful, rich, beautiful, athletic, beautiful. Did I say they are perfect in most ways the common folk are not? They are UNBELIEVABLY blessed physically, financially, mentally, etc. There is just no way to identify with these two, especially Jules who has an several orgasms EVERYTIME she and Nate go at it and that is AT LEAST three times a day. She is Wonder Woman. I was starting to get bored when these two were together no matter how many variations of sex they tried - and they tried them all in a three week period. All they ever did was tell each other how beautiful the other one was and how much they wanted the other. I sure hope neither of them gets in an accident and mars those good looks because I doubt the other one would stick around.
The slim plot of the book was the fear of what would happen if these two were discovered together by those at work because of the no fraternizing policy. Nate was totally devoted to and protective of Jules so there was no real drama with jealousy; actually there was no real drama over anything - just sex - A LOT of sex. Twice there was a reference to "making love" but Jules barely put up with it; she wanted it fast and hard all the time.
My ending feeling for these two was sadness.Read more ›

I had VERY high hopes for this book! I wanted to love it, I tried to love it, but I can't say that I did :( It had good potential, good story line, but it fell short for me. I want more than sex in every scene with the characters saying the same thing to each other, "oh, baby", "your so tight", blah, blah, blah! My biggest pet peeve is a book that has conflict that is solved immediately. No room for emotion, ugghhhh!!!! Whats the point in having a conflict or climax to the story line if the problem is solved immediately???? Anyway, I think if this is your first intro to this genre, you will find it enjoyable, but if you've read some of the greats in this genre, this will be a big let down! So sorry to say something negative, but with all the 5 star reviews on this book, people can be mislead like I was.

I didn't read the first book, which led to major confusion about major characters in this one, my bad. The author also named her characters Natalie (from the previous book) and Nate in this one. Very confusing. Overall, this was great. Just when you thought they slid into a relationship with ease, the conflicts came. I'll admit there is a lot of sex in this book, possibly a little too much. I like that each character has family ties. Nate remains a bit of a mystery, because its. First person narration from Jules perspective, but we quickly come to know him. They are both pretty blunt people who say what's on their minds which removes a lot of unnecessary drama. Yes, Jules frequently refuses to listen, but she always comes around after a cooling off period which is very human of her.
Here is my issue with Jules and Nate. By 30, Nate has been a successful MMA fighter yet made partner a their firm (services of this firm unknown). By 26 Jules has posed in playboy, is incredibly fit because of workouts with her professional football player brother, and is a competent fighter because of yet another brother. She is amazing at her job and an awesome best friend. She's also an amazing cook and does cute crafts, and makes enough money to throw ridiculously lavish baby showers. It's not that I didn't like her, but at one point I wondered if there was anything she couldn't do. I loved that when given a day to go shopping she took proper advantage of it, because that made her a little less "perfect".
So yes, I highly recommend this.
