The author of twenty-three previous novels for Avon Books, Julia Quinn is a graduate of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges and lives in the Pacific Northwest with her family.
#1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn loves to dispel the myth that smart women don't read (or write) romance, and several years back she did so in grand style, competing on the game show The Weakest Link and walking away with the $79,000 jackpot. She displayed a decided lack of knowledge about baseball, country music, and plush toys, but she is proud to say that she aced all things British and literary, answered all of her history and geography questions correctly, and knew that there was a Da Vinci long before there was a code.
Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyacinth... and, of course, the matriarch of this lovely bunch, Violet. Also known as the Bridgertons. When I first met this group, starting with Daphne in The Duke and I, it was love at first page. That week I devoured the first four books in a row. Then, when I realized there were only eight Bridgertons and thus only eight books in this series, I slowed my pace down. Savored them.
Because Julia Quinn writes fantastic romances and this series is an excellent example of her sweet, fun, and, often, sarcastic style that's infused with so many emotions that she never fails to tug on my heart strings. Simon and his stutter. Anthony and his fear of bees. Sophie and her cruel stepmother. She creates characters you can't help but love.
If you haven't yet met the Bridgertons, I highly recommend you do... and before you read this book, as this is their after the happily ever after. Their second epilogues.
The Duke and I. Takes places twenty years after. Oh, Simon. Always, always loved him--even when he was trying his best to not let anyone, especially Daphne, love him. In Daphne and Simon's second epilogue, we get to see what would cause Simon to actually open the letters from his father. And Simon and Daphne get a huge surprise that surprised me too.
The Viscount Who Loved Me. Takes place fifteen years after. Anthony and Kate make bickering an art form. And, for them, it's also an odd sort of foreplay. Time definitely hasn't changed that. Watching them try to outwit and outmaneuver each other during their annual Pall Mall game was hilarious. Especially when they get a little bit dirty.
An Offer From a Gentleman. Takes place three years after.Read more ›

The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After is a collection of epilogues answering questions that readers must have been plaguing Julia Quinn with.
If you haven't already read ALL of the Bridgerton books then don't bother getting this, go back and start at the beginning because otherwise you will be hopelessly lost. If you have read all the Bridgerton books then this is a sweet and mostly satisfying compilation of shorts that will remind you why you fell in love with the characters in the first place and give you some closure on some things that you always wondered about.
The first being whether or not Simon, Daphne's husband, ever read the letters that his father left for him. Ms. Quinn's first epilogue deals with what circumstances might make Simon WANT to read those letters - and my only complaint about this story is that now I'm dying to find out what's wrong with Georgie (if anything is at all) and I was hoping that the answer to THAT would come about in one of the later epilogues and it never did. Does that mean we're going to get a second generation of Bridgerton books? I hope so because I'm dying to know about him, as well as how Daphne and Simon deal with having an unexpected bundle of joy thrown into their later years.
The second epilogue didn't answer questions so much as it gave us a glimpse into Anthony and Kate's marriage and their unrelenting competitiveness when it comes to Pall Mall. Short, sweet and extremely humorous.
The third epilogue deals with Posy, Sophie's step-sister (the nice one). This was a little too short and sweet. I admittedly had always hoped that Posy would get her own book.Read more ›

Wow! I'm so surprised by some of the poor reviews for this. I think most is in part due to the buyer(s) having bought and read the 2nd epilogues and then re-purchasing the compilation of them again. I bought the paperback which states on the front cover (CONTAINS PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED MATERIAL). If you have not read the 2nd epilogues before and you love this family, most of you I'm sure will be overjoyed to read this! I laughed, smiled, and even cried a little during the final two stories in this book. It was like catching up with old friends, and I loved every second I spent reading it. Please keep in mind that these are just follow-ups to each of the Bridgerton siblings and their families. This is NOT a novel, and each story is very short in length, about 40-50 or so pages each on average. You get some unanswered questions/problems finally resolved, and Ms. Quinn also included a short novella about their mother Violet which was touching! This was such a joy to read and I truly hope we get to see more of this wonderful family soon. For true Julia Quinn/Bridgerton fans, this is not to be missed! 5 Wonderful Stars*****

I loved this book. Everyone was covered. It was awesome, like catching up with old friends after being away for some years. Hoping she really is penning novels of the children as she kind of hinted a couple times. Please please please do!!!!

I had previously read only one or two of the second epilogues so I decided to purchase The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After. I knew what it was. I was not expecting a new story, but since I had enjoyed most of the original Bridgertons books, curiosity got the better of me and I purchased it. This turned out to be an error in judgment because none of the epilogues are particularly compelling.
*SPOILERS*
Daphne/Simon's story offers up more questions than it answers (an unexpected pregnancy, a visit from Colin and family where nothing is resolved, the letters from Simon's father that are about nothing).
Anthony/Kate's story...attempting to revisit the Pall Mall game that was hilarious in the original story, but not nearly so entertaining the second time. Somehow the über competitiveness of the participants was not nearly as funny the second time around. It felt forced and flat.
Benedict/Sophie's story lets us know what happened with Posy. There didn't seem to be enough of an actual story there. A mention would have been good, but most of Posey's story felt like dull filler.
Colin/Penelope...more dull filler. I had always imagined Penelope telling Eloise about her alter ego would be far more interesting than what we were subjected to. I didn't think it was possible to make Colin boring, but this epilogue succeeded.
Eloise/Philip...again with the filler. A first person story through Amanda's eyes could have been more interesting then it was, but with each epilogue being the length of a short chapter, introducing new characters (Amanda's love interest) was not very compelling. The reader doesn't get to know anything much about him so he's nothing more than a name on the page. He has no depth or personality.Read more ›
