I have enjoyed Bella Andre's books for some time now. I've loved the Sullivans, to the point where I wish they would adopt me. Or maybe I could marry into them. Andre writes sweet romances that have some hot headboard rockin'. They're delightful in all the right ways.

Having exhausted the San Francisco Sullivans, she now introduces us to the Seattle branch.

This is, alas, a case of too much of a good thing.

It isn't that this is not as sweetly romantic or as hotly headboard rocking as the other Sullivan books. It is. Rafe and Brooke are clearly destined for each other, just as Rafe's cousins were with their husbands and wives. And the two definitely can scorch the sheets.

It's more that at this point, you feel as if you've read this book before. There isn't much to distinguish it from its San Francisco brethren.

Rafe is supposed to be a bad boy wild child, but he comes across as withdrawn and brooding. As a private investigator who uncovers the unfaithful, who can blame him if he doubts True Love's existence? The problem I had with Rafe is that he talks a good game about sexual dominance. He tells Brooke that he prefers - he needs - rough, deviant sexy times. He is a take control kind of guy, and he imagines trussing up his comely neighbor and having his way with her.

Yet when they do hit the sheets, it's fairly pedestrian. Hot, but far from dominant. I'm not expecting Fifty Shades Redux, but THIS is far too tame. Where is the hair pulling, throat grabbing, spanky panky that Rafe purports to enjoy?

Brooke is as stereotypical a Bella Andre heroine as you'll find. Devoted to her man, determined to get him to see that they belong together, and aching to know him in the Biblical sense.

New Sullivans’ to love ..Woot! The Way You Look Tonight by Bella Andre is the ninth book in the Sullivans series, and it is all about their Seattle cousins. I was a tad nervous about meeting them and hoped I would get the same feels I did with the previous characters. I should not have been worried at all; in fact, it seems that each new book in the series becomes a favorite! The Way You Look Tonight was sweet, sexy, playful and the perfect evening escape. Dates with The Way You Look Tonight were fun. Andre always makes me smile from her colorful characters to the fast pace she sets. Copy received from publisher, full review at caffeinated book reviewer.

Seven years ago Rafe Sullivan left the police to open up a private investigator firm. His office proved very successful and many in Washington believe he runs the best in the state. However, jaded Rafe also knows the downside as 100% of those he or his staff investigated were up to no good.

His sister Mia the realtor tells him the lake house near Seattle that they used to visit as children is on the market. Knowing he desperately needs a getaway R&R place, Rafe buys the rundown cabin. To his pleasant surprise, staying next door at her late grandparents’ house is no longer cute but instead beautiful Brooke Jansen, who aged perfectly. Having left Boston, Brooke is thrilled that her childhood crush is within reach. However, though as attracted to her as she is to him, Rafe hesitates as he has seen so many more relationships die though he admits his extended family have proven the exception.

Having left the San Francisco Sullivans in forever loving relationships, Bella Andre heads north for the first sexy Seattle Sullivans saga. Although the location changes, the quality of the leads remains strong even if their romance starts too quickly. Series fans will find the pleasant opening act very enjoyable and look forward to Mia who’s next on deck.
