More About the Author

Nikki Gillette is a reporter/true crime writer. Blondell O'Henry, was convicted of killing her daughter and injuring her other two children 20 years ago. Her son, who was 8 at the time, recants his testimony and sets in motion the wheels to free Blondell.
I found it hard to like Nikki Gillette. She exhibits all of the negative qualities of a reporter; getting a story no matter how low she has to go; she breaks into her Aunt's House in order to find confidential reports her uncle, who defended Blondell, has in his office. She is aware that it may hurt her Aunt tremendously, but is not bothered by that fact. She needs to have a new book, as her publisher has been hounding her to find one where she has a personal interest. Readers love that sort of thing. She uses her fiance, who is a police detective assigned to find "new" evidence to keep Blondell in jail. The entire prosecution case rested on the testimony of an 8 year old.
The ending was sloppy and very difficult to fathom. I thought I must be wrong when I guessed who did it, all from the five interviews placed sporadically in the book. It turned out I was right. It is a very "over the top" ending, along with unlikeable characters. I have read other Lisa Jackson books and felt some kinship with the characters. As far as I am concerned, everyone got what they deserved, with the exception of the readers.
I could not find anyone to root for in this book.

I would recommend any book by Lisa! She is is one of my favourite authors I read everything she writes! This book did not disappoint! She has a way of making you feel like you know the characters & they are your friends. I love Nikki & Reed & hope there will be more books about them as well as Bentz & Montoya & of Regan & Selena! If your a first time Lisa Jackson reader I highly recommend FATAL BURN as a starter book I've been hooked since reading it!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT RELEASE!!

20 years ago Blondell O'Henry was arrested for the murder of her teenage daughter and shooting her young daughter and son. Nicky Gillette is a reporter and true crimer novelist. She was also a friend of the dead teenager Amity O'Henry and remembers the night because she was suppose to meet Amity. The book revolves around the murder case because Blondell O'Henry son recants his testimony and Blondell O'Henry is going to be freed unless they can prove she did it.
This book is a page turner! Lisa Jackson is an artist weaving twists and turns that I never saw coming! I didn't even guess who the killer was! I guessed totally wrong! I loved that about the book because I usually guess the killer! I highly recommend this book and series!

I was very disappointed when I read this book. I have always liked her other books, but this was a big flop. Too many characters, not good plot, no action, just awful.

Lisa Jackson is a good writer, has interesting characters and can spin a tale, except for this one. Where was the editor who should have gotten rid of repetitive sentences? Where was the editor to turn to Lisa and say "Hon, this is fine, but you should trim this way down". Too many false leads, too many 'could it be this guy or this guy or this gal or that handyman or…." You get the picture. I don't like to have my intelligence insulted and I prefer books to be edited. I don't expect the writer to edit them, I expect the editor to do so. I also expect the editor or a proofreader to say "hey, Lisa, please do us a favor and not insult us with these false leads that go no where and get annoying after a while". So I wouldn't recommend this book. Can ya tell? Although again, I feel Lisa Jackson is a good writer, usually.

First I have to say that I have read, and enjoyed many of Lisa Jackson's other books. However, Tell Me, is, in a word: Booooring! Just couldn't get into it. Slow developing, uninteresting characters, mediocre plot. Nikki Gillette is a wuss and Pierce Reed is milquetoast. Was going to donate it but, well, you know.

I love Lisa Jackson and eagerly await her books. This one was a huge "fail". I was so annoyed by the foolhardy antics of Nikki Gillette I almost rooted for the bad guys. Nikki acts like a stupid teenager, not a serious journalist. The sub-plot of "will they or won't they?" marry (Nikki and Reed) was not suspenseful and served no purpose. Plus, Nikki acted like a spoiled brat whenever her mother tried to involve her in wedding plans. I would like to see Nikki grow up in future books- or have Reed dump her altogether. He is much more interesting single! The plot wasn't exciting at all. Please, no more boiler plate mysteries with stupid characters, Ms. Jackson! Get back to the good stuff we love you for!
