From the Back Cover

Two hearts are about to learn the rhythm of love

Bold, sophisticated, and coy, Army Air Force flight nurse Lt. Kay Jobson collects hearts wherever she flies, leaving men pining in airfields all across Europe. So how can ruggedly handsome C-47 pilot Lt. Roger Cooper be all but immune to her considerable charms? In fact, he seems to do everything he can to avoid her.

Still, as they cross the skies between Italy and southern France, evacuating the wounded and delivering paratroopers and supplies, every beat of their hearts draws them closer. Can they overcome the fears and misunderstandings of the past in order to take hold of the future?

Sarah Sundin seamlessly weaves together emotion, action, and sweet romance into a tale that transcends time and calls us to believe in the power of love.

In Perfect Time was an amazing read and the perfect way to end this fantastic series! The first two books left me so eager for Kay's story and it surpassed my expectations!

Both Kay's and Roger's pasts were tragic and definitely made me feel for them. I loved seeing their transformed lives and that the Gospel message was so prevalent to the story, but not in a pushy way --it flowed naturally.

There are so many other things I loved -- like the romance and how it wasn't instantaneous -- but suffice it to say, I absolutely loved this book! It's my favorite of the series and I can't think of anything I didn't like about it!

Sarah Sundin definitely knows how to write great WWII novels and I highly recommend this series. I am looking forward to reading her next book!

In Perfect Time is the final book in Sarah Sundin’s, Wings of the Nightingale series. The series follows a group of WWII flight nurses as they face the uncertain times of war, along with the trials that come their way.
One of my favorite things about Ms. Sundin’s books is that they all tie together very neatly and with this series, they also overlap each other a bit. I highly recommend reading them in order, if possible, but they can also standalone, though it may be a tad confusing until you catch up. The historical detail is great, as usual, and the descriptions bring the story to life. With a novel such as this one, that obviously involved a great amount of research and detail, it would be easy for the story to become bogged down with facts, but I believe Ms. Sundin found a great balance between the two.
Kay Jobson is heroine in this book. After following Kay through both Mellie and Georgie’s books, I thought I knew her pretty well, but I learned very quickly that those had only scratched the surface of who she is. I loved Kay’s character. She is so strong and determined, but under that façade, she is so broken. She has heard for years that she isn’t good enough, or lovable, and that she is unredeemable. I really wanted someone to correct that mistaken belief and when they did, I was cheering for her. The story follows Kay’s transformation, as she learns who God is, what it means to be loved, and how to love in return. I loved seeing her grow and change into the person God intended her to be.
Roger Cooper is also a character we know fairly well from the previous books, though he isn’t in them as much as Kay is. I really liked Roger, too. He is strong, kind, compassionate, and determined to follow God.

Every now and again, I pick up a book that isn't one I would typically select. Sometimes the cover intrigues me and other times it is the opportunity to try something new. Authors who make me fall in love with these ventures into the unknown quickly become listed among my favorites. Sarah Sundin is one of these authors.

I've always enjoyed historical fiction, but anything after the Civil War doesn't usually capture my attention. A couple of years ago, I decided to give Sarah Sundin's novel, A Distant Melody a try. I was blown away. I loved the characters and my heart raced when things didn't look good, not to mention devastated to see I only had a few pages left in a book. But what stands out the most to me, was Sundin's ability to portray the WWII aircrafts in such a way that I could imagine them and feel that I was even flying with the characters in them (and I honestly don't have a clue about aircrafts!). I quickly read the other two books in the series, and then patiently awaited the next series--and read the first two, and was then forced to wait again for the third book, In Perfect Time.

In Perfect Time is the third novel in Sarah Sundin's Wings of the Nightingale series. The novel is beautifully written and captures the heart.

The awesomeness of God's grace is a strong theme in this novel. It is also something that many of us struggle with--when are we "good enough"? This is something that both of the main characters struggle with in this story, and makes them relatable to the reader. Sundin's characters are so rich in their depth, that it is hard to believe that at the end of the story, they are fictional characters. What they go through, the emotions they have, and their personalities bring them to life.

I'm not a big reader of the WWII genre, as I prefer my fictional reading to be set in the 1800s, but from time to time I do find myself reading a book or two set in this era. The Wings of Nightingale series is written by Sarah Sundin. I recall reading the first book, With Every Letter, but for some reason I don't remember reading the second installment, On Distant Shore.

In Perfect Time centers on the Army Air Force flight nurse Lt. Kay Jobson, a character that also appeared in With Every Letter as a minor character and I presume she also appeared in the second book as well. Her romantic interests in the book is C-47 pilot Lt. Roger Cooper, another minor character from book one. I'm not going to go into detail about the plot here, as I don't want to spoil it for everyone else.

The author, Sarah Sundin, obviously loves the genre and did a lot of research, as she crafted detailed descriptions of the era throughout the novel; making the reader feel like they are actually in 1940s right there with the characters; dropping supplies to soldiers and helping the wounded. The romance never felt forced upon the characters, Kay and Roger, making me to believe that they actually loved each other.

Overall, In Perfect Time is a well-written romantic novel that gives us readers a glimpse at what it was like for the aviation during WWII. This is a Christian novel, so it is a clean-cut romance. I enjoyed reading the third installment in the Wings of Nightingale series and I recommend it others.
