And once again she has created the type of characters her readers can fall in love with.

Saving Sophie is truly a beautiful story. I’ve been eagerly waiting for the latest Body
guards of LA series. I even took the day off from work today and I enjoyed every
page thoroughly. Cate has woven a meaningful story about a courageous woman who
overcomes domestic violence to build a life for herself. The story revolves around the
central theme of domestic violence which so many women endure globally. My best
friend is a victim of domestic violence. She is terrified to let go. The author beautifully
shows the readers the struggles and fears that Sophie goes through to break free. There
is pain in sorrow and beauty in the tears. The heroine is broken and whole. She survives
to show us that if you have the courage and the will you can overcome all odds.
Stone is an alpha hero, strong, chivalrous and so honorable. Saving Sophie is about abuse,
courage, romance, honor and so much more. I really loved reading a romantic suspense without graphic and gory descriptions. A wonderful recommended read!!

(Really a 3.5)

I've enjoyed all of the Bodyguards of LA series so far, including this one. Sophie's story was both terrifying and heartbreaking, but she still managed to keep a mostly positive outlook on life and keep herself moving forward. Stone was a grunt-and-nod type guy who'd rather not be bothered, until he gets to know Sophie, and all of a sudden he's buying kitchen appliances with her. Together they were great - loved the way they worked things out on the basketball court! But instead of loving this book all the way through, I got pretty irritated - at both characters - several times.

No real spoilers here, except to say that one of my least favorite methods authors use to create tension between their characters is the "avoidance" technique, where one or both characters avoid talking to each other about the issue. That happens over and over in this story, when so many of their problems could have been resolved immediately if only one of them had opened their mouth and said what they were thinking, instead of clamming up, staying away from each other, not returning phone calls, etc. That kind of thing is ok maybe once, but when it continues throughout almost the entire story (seriously, at 94% I was still wondering) it gets irritating.

That being said, I really did like this one, and would recommend it to others. The bad guy was creepy, it was great to see some of our favorites from other books, and the ending was a satisfying HEA.

The first half of the book was wonderful. I was loving this book. Then at about 50% the heroine started to have tstl moments. One right after another.
She has this guy following her. Taking pictures & pulling tricks on her. What does she want to do about it? Ignore it. Just pretend he's not there. Then gets furious when the hero try's to talk to her about doing something to stop it.
Ok then hero gets angry at her for getting angry at him, & starts staying away from her.
Acts like a jerk to her & spends time with another women (innocently on his part) but still!!! When hero try's to connect with her we spend the rest of the book reading about the heroine constantly pushing the hero away. The dance around each other never talking about what was really going on. I was so frustrated. She had the right to be mad at him a couple of times when he was a jerk, & those were the times she decides NOT get furious with him!!! Why? When he trying to help her she throws a fit. When she really has a reason to throw down she acts like a wimp & a martyr. She thinks he wants another women so she just takes herself out of the picture without even asking him.
Then he finds out that that is what's wrong with her. Instead of settling things right then, he puts it off. I just don't get it.
As you can tell by reading this I'm no writer, but I know what I like. This is just my opinion. Others might not be bothered by these things. I would have loved to seen more action. Maybe them running from the bad guy & him actually doing some of the dirty work himself.
I absolutely loved Abby's story & would read more from this author.

Saving Sophie is another excellent book in the Bodyguards of L.A. County series, I've read them all and I could not put this book down until the end (stayed up way past my bedtime). Cate Beauman always includes a good mix of steam and intrigue with a happy ending!

I like to write reviews but I like to keep them simple and not tell you the whole story in my review…so here it is, would I tell my two best friends to read this book yes or no…YES, I would most definitely tell them to read Saving Sophie (The Bodyguards of L.A. County, #7)!

I read over 100 books in 2013, from Bikers, Military Ops and Serial Killers to Shifters, Vamps and Fairies…I don’t discriminate as long as there is a sexiness, mystery and a story line that keeps me up past my bedtime! I’ll try anything!

I wish you good reading!

I so loved Sophie and Stone's story. I have read all the other in the series and I can't believe how better and better it gets. I love living in the world of Ethan Hunt Security. I want more, don't stop writing them! The stories always end up hooking me in and this was no exception, warning you will be up all night reading this one, I nearly was. I am so going back over this series and beginning again from the beginning for about the fourth time!
