GPS's are great to get you want to go whether a Tom-Tom, Garmin, or a smart phone, but sometimes I just need to see a larger view.

Very good atlas with print that is more easy to read.

My husband and I have always trusted Rand McNally maps for our traveling needs. Since I made it a point to travel to all 50 states before I turned 30 years old, I definitely used them a LOT, by myself and with my husband! I am not a fan of GPS and would much prefer to look at paper versions and literally map out plans instead of listening to an annoying GPS voice 'baby' me with sometimes inefficient turns and roadways. Plus, sometimes it is nice to know where National Parks, Wildlife Refuges, or other magnificent sightseeing opportunities are! With an Atlas you can get off the beaten path a bit! :) Anyone who wants to feel confident in their travels through the USA should definitely own a Rand McNally Atlas and have it planted in each vehicle. These maps have never, ever steered us in the wrong direction! :)

This is our third version of this atlas. We love the large print and extra pages used to split some states into more than one page. Also love the way they bind it all together.

I have a car with built in GPS...but, they aren't perfect as most of us know. It's nice that it's a large scale atlas so you can actually SEE what you need to see. Always handy to have this in your car.

The Large print Road Atlas was sort of a good idea for us. We can really see the names of side streets in the bigger cities and the little roads in the country are easier to read also. However the need to flip back and forth between the multiple pages to plan a trip in some state is not easy. We are also using the US map to coordinate routes from one state or one city to the next in our planning. This did not happen with smaller print maps. I think we will buy one of the smaller print maps also.

My only complaint about this product was that it was spiral bound. I hadnt thought of that when I purchased. It breaks up the maps a bit. Other than that...very very detailed

Print could be a little larger for old farts like me but is better than standard. Would buy again, will next year.

With older eyes, I needed the larger scale of the this Atlas and that is satisfactory but the composition really stinks. There is almost no overlap between state sectionals so laying out a long route is very difficult. The page breaks allow the spiral binding to obliterate much of the mid page content. Overall, a big disappointment.

My main issue with this product is that the pages have absolutely *no* overlap. If the page breaks in the middle of "New York", then one finds "New" on one page and "York" on the next. When one tries to follow from one page to the next, it is very difficult; each page is a razor cut. Rand McNally used to be better than this; we used to expect half an inch of overlap with which to orient to the new map page... not so on these new ones. I suppose paper is expensive? It's tough when they split a small, but significant, road icon!
