Excellent wall map in tasteful colors

I looked carefully at a great many maps online and it was difficult to make a decision. However, the size (not too big but big enough to give some detail), the tasteful colors (I really don't need large areas of the world to be bright orange, red or turquoise) and the price (really reasonable!) of this particular world map were all pretty convincing. My daughter loves it and it was easy to mount on her wall.

Beautiful Map

I purchased for 5 year old. I recommend it over a globe because it is much bigger and everything is easy to see and distinguish. This map has nice deep colors and really decorates a bedroom hanging on the wall. My child touches it and pulls her fingers across it and no fingerprints or damage. Good quality map and a great learning tool. Nice for children and adults.

I bought this map for my office wall. With everything going on in the world today I like to know where things are happening & this map is great for locating areas being discussed in the news. The map is durable, attractive & current. My only negative is that it may be out of date before the life of the actual map...oh well, then I will buy a new one!

National Geographic Map of the World

This is a laminated map of the world. Construction quality of this $20 map is acceptable. I would have preferred a more detailed map; something that would allow me to at least pick out the various States in the US as well as the capital cities on the European continent. Because this map has been designed to appear like a flattened globe, the continents have a curved or "swept back" look to them. The African continent is dead center and is the most defined and readable part of the map. Each Country in Africa is a contrasting color and the major cities.are noted. North American citizens may well be disappointed with the map's layout as that portion of the map appears to be an afterthought. Look closely and carefully at the picture of this map before purchasing and be sure it meets your requirements.

Cheesy Colors

The coloring is not as displayed online. The people who loved this item were using it for a child's room or classroom and for that, I agree, it's perfect. The poster is nice in terms of size and laminate. The coloring is very bright, similar to what you'd see in a preschool room, not on display in someone's sitting room. To give you an idea of the degree of variance in coloring, Russia appears to be more of an almost neon salmon/coral color. Definitely not the muted rust tone in the photo. If you could care less about color schemes, you'll love this poster.
