I loved Fodor's guides - I have used other guides from them and this one lived up to expectations. The maps are great and the highlights provide enough detail to determine if it is a sight I want to see. I typically copy the pages I need and take the pages with me for my travels - leaving the heavy book at home.

Great size for traveling. Loaded with information in every category for planning the trip and learning the area some before we get there. One suggestion would be a best or top 10 list at the beginning or end of each section.

I have the Kindle version of this book and looking at the maps is almost useless. I'm not familiar with where the neighborhoods are in these cities and couldn't find an overview map showing the city and the neighborhoods. I happened to see the book in the library and there's a fold out map which shows exactly that - but you don't get that with the kindle version. It's also frustrating to even see the maps with my version because they aren't shown before the chapter with the description of the neighborhood as you read - you need to search or use the table of contents and then the back button. It just feels stupid and clunky. I've traveled with other online guidebooks and had no similar complaints.
The text is fine and helpful, so I gave it 3 stars, although I haven't made my trip so don't know how accurate the information is yet.

I only bought this for the Quebec City portion and I found it really cursory. I've been to Quebec several times so was hoping to find something new but this guide just touches on the most obvious and touristy places, activities, restaurants, etc. There are no useful tips or insights. In my opinion, the writer was just plain old lazy in slapping it together. Save your money and send for the free guide from the tourist bureau, also go on TripAdvisor where you can get great leads on and critiques of hotels, restaurants, entertainment, etc. Stupidly, I went on their web site after I got back from this year's trip and discovered I'd missed out on three terrific restaurants. Maybe next year....
