A Must Buy for those headed to Brazil!

Exactly what you would expect

Lonely Planet has one of the best formats for travel books and this one is just as you would expect. Brazil is a big place to cover and the book is huge, but what else could they do? Well-written, highly useful.

Better than some

I own the Lonely Planet and another guide book for Brazil. I recommend this one over Insight Guides. Lonely Planet provides better detail for lodging, transportation, and food than Insight.

Expensive, but worth it to me, anyway

Has some of everything. Appears to at least lightly cover the whole country, with major focus on the best-known cities and events. Nice illustrations and maps, probably accurate enough for most tourists, even those visiting the Pantanal or northern or southern Mato Grosso, hopefully in the dry season, .since they can probably rely principally on their tour guides .(I would try the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia for the best maps, if I really needed them. American WACs and sectionals might do for you, too,

it's a fair overview

I'm Brazilian and I bought it to my Germany friend because he loves Lonely Planet and would like he comes to Brazil some day. It seems to be a great product the pictures are somehow incredible as far as I could briefly look is a fair overview of the country.
