A beautiful book printed on beautiful paper and bound beautifully. If you want a keepsake of your trip to Ireland to put on your coffee table, or if you want to see the beauty of the country without actually going, or if you want to whet your appetite for your upcoming trip, then this book is well worth the money.
However, if you want a book that will actually be useful during your trip or in planning out the logistics of your trip, then this is NOT the book for you -- as it wasn't the book for me. The book was absolutely useless during my trip, and because of the density of the beautiful paper, it was a heavy thing to be carrying around with me. There are absolutely no practical details like admission fees, parking locations, times to go to avoid crowds, off-the-beaten-path places to go, or even more than a tiny sampling of restaurants and hotels scattered around the country (and presented in a unified list as an appendix to the book) with almost no detail.
Really useless as a travel guide, which is a shame because it's so nicely put together. Next time I'll take a black-and-white book that actually gives practical advice, and if I decide to get something like this, I'll leave it at home.

This is an excellent guide if you are doing a tour of Ireland, especially if you're planning it on your own.. Be sure you get the latest edition, as things change. It is fairly heavy, and when every ounce counts toward the airline luggage limit, that's something to consider. We gave ours away after leaving Ireland.
