A surprising and beautiful tour book of 60 Oregon, Washington and Vancouver BC public gardens. I found the conversational style to be interesting and very informative. Equally at home on the coffee table or easily fitting in the glove box of my car, the book is truly a tour book, but with luscious photos. I have discovered at least three or four gardens right here in my own Portland, Oregon backyard that I never knew existed! I will be surprising my gardening friends here in the Northwest in December with a copy!

I've already visited 3 of the highlighted gardens, and all were excellent. A beautiful and (so far) accurate guide.

The author includes the Elizabeth Miller Garden - entirely appropriate - it's a treasure and a tribute to a remarkable plantswoman, Elisabeth (Betty) Miller. But in describing the opinionated and strong-willed Betty and her husband, the author states, "Pendleton Miller was a Yale-educated lawyer, but it was Betty who wore the plants in the family". Not funny. Further, I see no gardens in this book that one couldn't find with minimal internet searching.
