More About the Author
Charles A. Wells graduated from Ohio State University in 1969 with a degree in graphic design. After practicing design in Ohio, he moved to Colorado Springs in 1980 and worked 18 years in the printing business. Over the years, he and his family enjoyed a wide array of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, rafting and skiing. He bought an SUV in 1994 and immediately got addicted to exploring the backcountry. He later joined a four-wheel-drive club and learned more about hardcore four-wheeling.
Dissatisfied with the four-wheel-drive guidebooks on the market, he decided to write his own. His first book on Colorado sold well enough for him to leave his regular job to write full time. He presently has six SUV/Jeeping books on the market-two on Colorado, one on Moab, one on Arizona and two on California, visit www.funtreks.com. He also started down a new path with a brand new ATV book on Moab. More SUV and ATV books are planned.

My husband and I recently purchased a side x side. We are new to the Moab trails and this book was a huge help! We went on many of the trails in the book. We found the rating system to be wonderful in selecting trails. The trail description was great and the pictures were nice too. I would recommend this book to any person who is planning on riding in Moab - whether you are in a Jeep, ATV's, motorcyces, or a UTV.

I've been to Moab before and had other books on recreation there, but this is the clearist descpritons of these areas, with colored pictures, GPS coordinates of difficult places, and good instruction. The maps give a good sense of what is going on.

Detailed maps and accurate descriptions. A must have for Moab 4x4 roads. Took my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland on the Fins n Things trail with the help of this guide...lots of thrills!

This book is a "must have" for any off-road trip to Moab. It is well written, very detailed and you can get their SD card that goes with it for your Garmin GPS, second to none. Worth every penny and more!

If you want good descriptions of all the major off-road trails in the Moab area, look no further. This book is fantastic! Great trail variety, colored pictures of all the main attractions, GPS waypoints, and awesome worded description of the trails. I already own this book, and bought this for a friend. That should say something. I also own the ATV version from the same author which is also great.
