Time after time this guide gave us excellent suggestions for places to eat, things to see and places to go. It singularly enhanced our recent (March 2013) trip to New Orleans. If you have this guide you will not need any other while you are there. Far beyond just the regular tourist spots (that are in the book, too), it shows us many aspects of the city a tourist might miss. First-rate.

I travel a lot and I do it by motorcycle so I want to get it right the first time. I wanted to use my tablet to get around but there is nothing online that can compete with these books. The Lonely Planet Series is by far the most complete I have ever seen. I wanted to just use websites and my t

This was the best guidebook I have used. I always buy Lonely Planet when I travel but buying the Kindle edition will be essential from now on. It is searchable and that really helped to make it even more helpful than the hard copies.

5 stars because the lonely planet books are the best of their category and they proved it again in this one.
I love the simplicity and the personal touch in the book from the writer. They have been there and they have favorites and it's nice.

I would recommend it to everybody. even if it's just to look at sometimes and dream...

I've been down on Lonely Planet titles for a few years, and I've definitely run into some Kindle-edition stinkers when traveling. This title made me re-evaluate the utility of LP's electronic guidebooks. It is well-written, engaging, full of accurate and actionable information, and useful companion, whether you are heading to NOLA for a few days or a few weeks.

There was some very useful information in here. However, we didn't use it as much as we thought we would. It was hard to navigate at times when we were looking for certain areas of interest. A more useful map with a legend of what to do in that area would have made all the difference. 4 out of 5 stars for us.

I usually use Lonely Planet guides when I travel and this one did not disappoint. It got it us some great festivals, restaurants and attractions. I used the e-version on my iPad but still think like using paper better. I loved it's recommendation/evaluation of Bourbon street. The only reason to walk on Bourbon is to cross it to go someplace worthwhile. Right on mark!!
