I really enjoyed this book - it's well written, easy to use, entertaining and informative. But the great thing for me was some little jewels of ideas of things to see and do that you won't find in "every other travel guide" or even on online sites. I've been to San Francisco a number of times and was looking for some ideas that were a little off the beaten path - like the laneway that was the inspiration for Barbary Lane in Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City and visiting the gorgeous Haas-Lilienthal House. Checking out the "Look Inside" feature on Amazon was enough to convince me that this book was different - and better - than the rest.
Didn't get to wine country this time, but I look forward to using that section of the book on another visit.
