I have tons of books on decorating and this is a waste of good paper. . The contents were worthless. Someone just gathered photos and slammed it together and called it a book. The pictures were pretty, but the content was nil. I have never felt this way about a book. I wish I could get my money back. ..... totally worthless.

This is the fourth book of hers I've read (all from the library) and it's the same tired formula: Styled vignettes printed too darkly on soft paper that blurs the images, with small unreadable black text running over a mix of colors that makes it an absolute CHORE to get through. I sat there with reading glasses AND a magnifying glass and I still could not make some of it out! I would have thought that by now, the art direction and typography would have been improved/upgraded, and the content updated to something with more "meat" to it. It's basically yet another travel diary from a privileged person lucky enough to travel widely and suck up what other cultures have done (and well-funded enough to buy whatever cool, rarefied thing strikes her fancy), to be set up as an idealized photographic still life later on. It doesn't teach you a thing about design, it doesn't relate to how people really live and use their homes, and although I'm a wildly creative person with eclectic tastes, I can't see how any of this "inspiration" could translate to my own way of living. The ONLY actual design content it imparts is "create a 10-color palette." (There--I just saved you $30.) I just don't understand what all the fuss is about over this woman's books...("revered designer"--by WHOM?) If you are looking for a design book with the same kind of global aesthetic--only INSTRUCTIONAL--check out Kishani Perera's book "Vintage Remix"--you'll learn a lot more.

This book inspires to loosen up, have confidence and work with life's collected treasures that you love and think beyond the "step by step" interior design box, The third of Sibella's books I own . . .just lovely, that I can refer back to for inspiration. If you are looking for more specific concrete guidance . .it may not be for you.

I have all of her books. The books themselves are a works of art. The paper is wonderful. Her work is always interesting and worth having. The books fit together like a story of places, cultures and colors. Worth having.

This is an excellent design, inspiration book. The author shares her thought process on developing her color palettes or color schemes as
she travels and explores. She also notes that there is a Pantone app you can use to pull a five way color palette from a photo, how handy is
that? She is very intuitive and artistic. She has a fine eye for textural detail. This book is a treasure.

The book is a nice high quality fabric. I find it odd that words are written on pages with lots of colors on them- thus makes reading at times difficult. The book is just good to own if you are of a gypsy spirit and like to be surrounded by all things gypsy.
