Good Enough For The 1920s French Ex-Pats

It's a moleskine. What else can be said? If you need to jot something down on the go, then this is the pocket sized notebook to write it in. Usually it's in black. A few years ago, red came out but did a limited run. The simple black notebook. A lot like when Henry Ford was asked what colors he would let them paint his cars, his legendary response was to his manager "paint them in any color so long as it's black." And black Ford's were the only thing coming off the line (in the movies that's why all the cars are black until he finally opened up to white and the rest is history. Well, with Moleskine, it was the black notebook that now has come out in not just red but also, forrest green, violet, and yellow. I purchased the pocket-sized Green and...it's just like a pocket-sized black moleskine notebook, except it's a lovely shade of green. And I am a person constantly writing so I've (literally) an entire bookshelf of black notebooks...I like the green, it's a bit of a bubbameitzer (Yiddish: a...nothing kind of thing) being a black notebook or a green notebook, it doesn't matter. It's a beautiful shade and a nice difference, easier to find and mostly...just like the engines on those Ford Cars from the 40s, they have the same quality pages, the same pocket at the end, the same thickness just like any other moleskine. So do I recommend you get it? Yes, if you like green...or get one in violet...or yellow...or good ol' black. It's what is written on the pages that makes them valuable. But as for the difference, there isn't any. So if you want a little something new, like a little color go for it. I love mine. I'll still fill it up, and I'll buy another one, probably green or black, though with my style I'd stay away from the yellow--a bit loud for me.Read more ›
