Art Thiel was a columnist at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for nearly 30 years before he and Steve Rudman founded Sportspress Northwest in 2010. His 2003 book abut the Seattle Mariners, Out of Left Field, was a regional best seller. A graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Thiel regularly appears on the Seattle NPR affiliate, KPLU-FM. He lives in Seattle. Steve Rudman’s career in sports journalism has included roles as an editor and columnist at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, editor of The National Sports Review, director of research at ESPN, and a talk-show host at KIRO Radio, Seattle’s CBS affiliate. He previously authored 100 Years of Husky Football and coauthored The Great Book of Seattle Sports Lists. He lives in Seattle. Sportspress Northwest is an online venture founded by Art Thiel and Steve Rudman in 2010. The site provides analysis and commentary on the Seattle Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners and University of Washington football and basketball teams. Mike Holmgren is a veteran NFL coach and executive who coached the Seattle Seahawks from 1999 to 2008, including the Seahawks’ NFC Championship season in 2005. Holmgren coached the Green Bay Packers to their Super Bowl XXXI triumph in 1996.
Well written book about the best young quarterback in the NFL. As great of a quarterback as he is, he's a better person and role model. There aren't many athletes I'd point out to my kids and say - "That is someone who acts the way a man should act", but Russell Wilson is one. This is a very good book about his road to the pinnacle of his profession - so far.
This book reads like a collection of reports and game summaries from his college and NFL career up to XLVIII. Sort of like a collection of newspaper articles about him. There was no apparent insider access or content from "behind the scenes", and no exclusive interview with Russell Wilson or any family or friends. This is a football book first and foremost. Any quotes appear to be from press conferences or interviews Russell Wilson gave in the course of regular NFL access and limited to football. A good collection of information for an unauthorized book about a subject whose story is only beginning.

Well written, informative and interesting book that gives a rounded view into RW as a person and athlete. Upshot? This book brings home the knowledge that the Seahawks and fans are lucky to have him here in Seattle. Thanks, Russell, for being who you are and thanks to Art Thiel for a great look into Russell's life.
