If I could create the island of my dream, I don't believe I could improve on one that already exists. I mean, of course, Capri. Everything about it appeals to me. --.

I recently spent an afternoon reading this book from cover to cover. With it's stunning photos, history, folklore, fashion, and of course, glamour, In The Spirit of Capri provides the perfect escape to one of my favourite places. An absolute pleasure to read and re-read.

This book really captures the "magic" that is Capri (one of my favorite places in the world). It deftly combines the history (both ancient and recent), the visual imagery and great food and drink that make Capri such a unique and memorable place to visit. I bought copies for all of my friends who share my passion for the island.

Frank Sinatra famously sang about the Isle of Capri.
Now Pamela Fiori tells its story with magnificent description, lively and juicy history, and stunning photographs. By reading "In the Spirt of Capri", you are in Capri without stepping on an airplane.
For a vicarious getaway to one of the world's most legendary places this is just what the dottore ordered. And an accompanying glass of wine- or two- is a must.
And Frank,it's pronounced Cahpree.
Salute!

Another slice of "the beautiful" life. If only it was more current -- but then maybe the current Capri crowd is less... photographable/memorable than it was in the fantastic 60s and 70s. Pretty book too.

this wasn't at all what I was expecting but it was extremely interesting. I thought it would be more pictures and less text - a kind of decor inspiration but it was quite focussed on entertaining 'capri style'. I was disappointed that there wasn't more about capri architecture and decor but it was a fascinating read all the same.

Loved Pamela Fiori as the editor of Town and Country, wish she were still there. I've always wanted to travel to Capri and I felt like this book gave the legendary island a fair shake. I really enjoyed reading Ms. Fiori recommendations on how to vacation on the island. As she explained, one goes to a cafe in the morning to people watch, passes the afternoon at the beach or indoors napping while the cruise-goers crowd the town square, and then around 8PM one re-emerges to once again sit at a cafe and watch the beautiful people of Capri. Sounds dreamy. I hope I get to go there someday!
