I used this map for a White Mountain hut traverse. It is very easy to read and has nice features like distances between sections and insets for areas needing more detail. For my pursposes all key names and details were there. With the front and back setup I only needed one map to cover the whole area... the AMC maps require 2 and will cost twice as much. Waterproof and highly recommended.

I am a regular hiker in the White Mountains. I've had several maps, most of them from the AMC. But this map is larger, easier to read and waterproof. It's my favorite hiking map for the White Mountains.

I needed a map that clearly showed road crossings and could be marked on with highlighter to show the trail. Now I can find where my husband is hiking while I drive around the White Mountains looking at wildlife and birding! Perfect map for us!

I am working on hiking all of the 4000s in New Hampshire. I have the AMC White Mountain Guide and accompanying set of 3 maps but thought it would be nice to have a map that consolidated that information. This map does just that and takes the territory covered by the 3 AMC maps and manages to put it on 1 map - pretty awesome.
The map is decently durable - I don't think it's on the level of Tyvek, but it seeks like it would be water resistant enough to be pulled out during a light storm while you got your bearings. I typically keep my map in a ziplock bag when not in use and just pull it out intermittently anyway, and this map is durable enough to handle that.

Everything I needed in One map for 9 bucks -- how can you go wrong. I already have most of the AMC maps, they cost more, especially the tyvek ones. This map is not Tyvek, ie, it will rip (I think it will, haven't tried it yet). Since it just seems to be like thick-ish magazine type paper I'm not sure how wet it can get (but I haven't tried that either yet).
