Donald Strachan is a writer and journalist who has written about Italy for publications worldwide, including National Geographic Traveler, the Guardian, Sunday Telegraph, and the Independent. He resides in London, England.
Stephen Keeling has been traveling to Italy since 1985 (when a serving of gelato was 1000 lire), and covering his favorite nation for Frommer's since 2007. He has written for the Independent, Daily Telegraph, various travel magazines,numerous travel guides as well as authored the award-winning Frommer's Family Travel Guide to Tuscany and Umbria.Stephen resides in New York City.

More About the Author
Stephen Keeling (b.1970) grew up in England and graduated from Jesus College, Oxford in 1992 with a degree in history. After working as a business reporter in Riga, Latvia, and a year organizing exhibitions in Vietnam and Myanmar for an eccentric Chinese millionaire, he joined a Hong Kong-based financial news provider in 1995, working his way up to Asia-Pacific Bureau Chief. After stints in Singapore and Shanghai, he moved to Taipei, Taiwan in 2003 where he wrote and researched the first Rough Guide to Taiwan. In 2006, after 12 years in Asia, he moved to New York City. Since then he has authored numerous Frommer's books and Rough Guides, in addition to writing for Google, Zagat, Dorling Kindersley, the Independent, Budget Travel and other publications.

Not a lot of "details" but very helpful in giving you a good "overview" of each location and basic information, such as web sites to buy advanced tickets for museums and other attractions, days and hours places are open, etc. "Reader friendly" maps and a relatively compact size are other pluses. Somewhat limited information about hotels and restaurants. If I were going to stay for a week or more in each city, I would probably want a more detailed guide for that city, but for basic information about these specific cities, this guide is very useful.
