great guide for culture and history

I'm a visual person, and DK never lets me down when I travel to a new place and what to learn about museums, points of interest, etc. As I mentioned in another review, I recommend buying another guide to accompany the DK guide - since it's lacking in bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels, and the like. I think the Time Out Madrid guide would make a good companion guide (alongside the DK guide).

Always buy Eyewitness Guides for Trips and Vacations

I purchase Eyewitness Guides for all my overseas trips or for visits to California, NYC, Philadelphia. The local area maps and highlights are great and I have never been steered wrong with the restaurant recommendations. This is head and shoulders better than other travel guides. The structure/layout and pictures are well thought out.
