Another Good Atlas from Delorme

For map junkies, this is a beautiful product. This was a great aid for the driving parts of our New England fall color trip & I highly recommend it for that purpose. It also made finding trail heads for hiking easier. For biking, these maps have important limitations. It was impossible to read elevations off the contour lines. Photocopies of the maps to take on a bike ride as a route guide often did not reproduce the smaller back roads because they are represented by too fine a line. But this varies from page to page and between the Vermont & the New Hampshire atlas. Our much older Oregon Atlas is even worse in this regard. A competing atlas is much better in this regard at least for Oregon.

Excellent Maps and Very Easy to use!

I highly recommend this atlas book. It has large maps, easy to use symbols, it loaded with colors and highly useful and interesting information. This atlas depicts all roads both big and small and tons of other useful information. It's nice to to look at different areas and discover new routes and attractions. I'm going leave this one in the car for all around reference and driving assistance when in a pinch.

decent maps, but not great

I was a little disappointed by the description and coding of roads and their condition. I purchased the map to find less traveled back roads, such as dirt and class 4,5,6 roads. There doesn't seem to be much distinction between any of these, so you never know if a road is paved or dirt or even a hiking trail?

Lots of info that Google Maps doesn't have, these books are still the best if you want detailed, up close information of an area. Includes lots of public lands, fishing sites, boat launches, back roads, all at just the right scale.

I have one of these for every state I spend a lot of outdoors time in (NY, VT, NH, and ME). They're awesome for pre-planning hikes, or figuring out mileage and ascent/descent footage after the fact.

The atlas is more of a collection of topo maps then the older version I had. I use it to find boat ramps for fishing so I dont really need to the topo maps and would prefer more detail on roads and access around lakes and ponds.

These are about as good as it comes for a state atlas

Great size, nice details of urban areas in the back and easy to navigate. It's not GPS, but always found what I was looking for without getting lost.
