Its hard to review a guide book by only reading it, however I'll update later with any negatives. I'm somewhat familiar with the White mountains, but having a knee problem I wanted to find some easier treks the "easy" way. I've read through this guide and it seems to be the real deal. If the directions are accurate, its going to be as important as my compass this year. Mileage to trail heads, clear entry instructions, trail details and a difficulty rating that I hope is true. I am a five star reviewer at this point....

Well organized, wonderful descriptions of trails and the level of difficulty of the trail. It was spot on when the guide said that a particular trail would be muddy after recent rainfall! THe guide even tells you whether the trail is good for kids (I believe the author is a dad!), which was key for our situation. Keep in mind that even the "easy" trails will be difficult for a young toddler. When the trail is marked as good for kids, I think they mean the 5 years+ crowd.

The book came to promptly and in good condition, as described. The book is organized, easy to use and has great hikes for all abilities. There is even a glossary of local vegetation in the back which is fun for some of the nature hikes in the book. I would recommend this book to a fellow hiker.

this book is great. I borrowed it from the library and found it so resourceful I wanted a copy for myself so I could refer to it anytime I want. I use it to look-up hikes to do with my mom that are at a beginner level since she just started hiking and also more rigorous or challenging and longer for me and my bf. This book breaks everything down from level, length of time, distance, includes map and so much more. It really helped me get familiar with areas I didn't even know had beautiful places to explore.
