About the Author
Ron Wiggins, a features and travel columnist for the Palm Beach Post for 33 years, grew up in Gainesville, FL where he graduated in journalism before working for the Orlando Sentinel and the St. Petersburg Times. He was twice named best columnist by the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors while in St. Petersburg and at The Post. His two-year series of Florida's "bucket list" stories and photos was slated for publication in book form until the economic slump put such projects on the shelf. Ron retired in 2006 and last year updated his 52 favorite stories and self-published "Florida Authentica" in spring of 2012. In an interview by The Palm Beach Daily News Ron said: "My hope was to persuade readers to erupt out of their arm chairs and go out into the real Florida and get their feet muddy up to their necks."

Ron Wiggins has done a fabulous job at acquainting both the Florida native and non-native reader with an enjoyable review of a diverse number of great places to visit in Florida besides the Big Name Attractions that most folks are aware of. His humorous and informative style makes for an easy read that might even elicit a grin or laugh here and there. Florida Authentica is a must for those that want to know more of the "Other Florida".

Another quirky subject from Florida writer, Ron Wiggins. This book is a fun look at some interesting, but often overlooked, sites in Florida. Very cool book.

Ron Wiggins has compiled 52 great Florida adventures that should be on everyone's bucket list. I have visited about half of the places that Ron writes about and he has definitely captured the essence and the flavor of each. At the end of each of these adventures there is contact information that the reader can use to plan their own visits to the respective locations. A must have for any Floridian especially those raising a family.
