Excellent guide to the basics

Though I have temporarily dropped studying Chinese, it is a lot of fun to have this little book around and be able to look up basic phrases. I like that the pinyin and hanzi are featured. I would definitely suggest it for someone going to China or looking to learn some basic Mandarin.

Nice little reference

Perfect

Arrived quickly! Order on a Sunday received the following Wednesday. Book is perfect condition. It's the perfect size to slip in a crossbody bag while abroad. Has some very good information included about tonal sounds and the pitches of certain words. Mandarin is a tonal language, and is challenging. I've already picked up a few basic sentences. This little book will definitely come in handy when I study abroad in China this fall. I recommend this for anyone traveling to China whether it be for business, education, or vacation.

It's OK

I was hoping for a book that would help me know how to say things while in China. However, this book doesn't have a very good pronunciation aspect. It says its there in bold but I'm pretty sure that its not simple enough for those of us without any prior Chinese training. I guess I'll use it to point at and have them read it when I need to communicate with the locals.
