I like the fact that the towns/cities are listed on the first page, exits #s on high speed roads clearly marked. I find it very useful to have the public buildings marked on the map, especially for someone who has never been in a particular area: it's easier to find a public building than an address.

I am so used to buying the hard copy to get around, I have not yet really looked at a gps. I look to buy newer when the pages get really dog eared or when the time span seems about right, but always a newer edition.
