We are on our third copy of this map as we wore out the previous two. This is a very detailed, concise map of Scotland. Nary a road exists that is not on this map. Perfect for those who want to venture into undiscovered Scotland. We would not make a trip there without it. The only drawback is its very large size. However, getting every road and single track in Scotland on this map makes up for it. It doesn't hold up super well as evidenced by the tears in our previous maps where it is folded. Nevertheless, we will continue to order these as they wear out because it is simply the best map of Scotland out there.

I have been reading the Rosamunde Pilcher novels and have been fascinated with the names of the various mansions (and small towns)which she has invented. In a way the true map was a disappointment. The names were down to earth, short and ordinary. But this is a map! And if you are traveling in Scotland it is very useful. Romantic names have to wait for books! And she supplies many.
My own experience with Scotland (physically) was the usual tourist route. Edinburgh and the Royal Mile, (and a beautiful knit sweater.)
So if you are traveing in Scotland, and need a map, this Michelin one will give enough details to be useful.
