Raised in rural Somerset, Luke Waterson developed a penchant for travelling at an early age and, following completion of an English Literature and Creative Writing degree at the University of East Anglia, duly set forth to travel the world. Great guide to find things in rural areas. Ecuador roads are changing. Get the most recent guide book so you can find your way more easily. We rented a car in Quito and drove 1600 km using this book continually. I liked it a lot. Also get a GPS ...

As expected. Not as updated as I would have liked. Did not have the new airport information for Quito. That's two years old and this is supposed to be 2013 edition.

This is a fantastic picture book that will give you a clear sense of Ecuadorian culture and the sights you have to look forward to. My husband is very visual and really enjoyed being able to browse through this to help with our planning. It really made us excited about the trip. However, I think it is a little bit thin on actual content. The recommendations were good, but I didn't feel that I was getting a good representation of what was really available, especially related to lodging, transportation, etc. I will say that it worked beautifully as a companion to another, content heavy, tour book.
