I am a seasoned traveler, but have never ventured into Sweden or any Norwegian territories. This book is a great guide into the land. I'm only traveling to Stockholm, but it helped me pin point the places I wanted to stay, where I could afford to go, and where I wanted to go. There are not a lot of great internet resources for traveling in Stockholm, and this handy book was perfect. It was also important for me to get a sense of history and political climate, cultural etiquette and customs, which this perfectly acquaints you with.

LP Guide to Sweden is informative but does not get into tremendous details about the hinterland. I had already been to Sweden twice so I wanted a book that gave more info about smaller cities and regional travel. This book is a bit short on that. However, it is very good in its coverage of Stockholm and the cities.

this is an awesome guide! It tells you a little of the history of Sweden and it also has a calendar where you can see all the festivities that Sweden has.
I think that if you love traveling, you'll make good use of this guide!

I used this book on an 8-day trip to Stockholm.
There is one major inconvenience with this book: local names are in Swedish. If you speak the language, you are in great shape. So for instance, I was supposed to go to the City Hall as advertised in a city brochure, but I couldn't find it on the map because the English version was inexistent. Instead, I had to stop several times to ask strangers if they could point the place in the map, which makes the tool useless.
The guide is a bit outdated and some important information is not displayed in the book. As an example, many of the historical references in Stockholm are either in Swedish or in Latin. In these cases, I had to resort to other sources, such as local information desks to understand the background. In addition, except for employees working in hotels and other touristic spots, most people did not speak English or did not feel comfortable to express themselves in the language. My experience was contrary to the reference in the guide.
Overall: it is general guide for the city but not enough for a European capital with more than a thousand years of architectural history. I suggest the user completes this book with local brochures and information at the touristic offices.
