Customer Reviews

City detail maps were very good.
Jean Gerhard
It took me a day or two to realize that there was a very good road just a short distance away but the GPS was directing us down these one-lane roads.

I just got back from a trip to Ireland with my mom and was thrilled with this book!

On a recent trip (9/2012) my husband and I used this Atlas in addition to our updated European GPS and still managed to get lost.
However, unlike a GPS the Atlas enabled us to see where we were heading and the small details that only a map can give you.
Highly recommended for a trip to Ireland - beautiful country but the roads can be a challenge to Americans - especially with the confusion of driving on the 'wrong' side of the road and that the steering wheel is on the 'wrong' side also!

Even with our GPS this road atlas was very much needed. The first couple of days we kept ending up on small one-lane roads from following our GPS. It took me a day or two to realize that there was a very good road just a short distance away but the GPS was directing us down these one-lane roads. I would have never discovered this if I had not had this road atlas to follow along with the GPS. Not only were the one-lane roads scary at times, you could only go about 25 mph on them - when you could get to the same place driving a few miles out of the way but on a wide 2 lane national highway with a much faster speed limit.

This is the atlas kind of driving guide that I like to use when driving in another country. Much easier to handle than a folding map.

I ordered this prior to my trip and mapped out my itinerary. Using this atlas along with a GPS we had no problems traveling around the SW area of Ireland. (I think we could have saved some money and not gotten the GPS) I liked the details of historic attractions and site seeing spots. I do wish there would have been city details of a few other tourist towns. I also thought that the 'bouncing' from page to page would have been an issue, but I planned my trip to stay pretty much within a page per day. Would recommend this atlas!

We are driving around Ireland right now, and this map has been excellent. Brought along a gps, but we really have not needed it. My wife has been able to navigate just fine using the map. Even roads with no names or numbers show up on the map. A good buy!

A wonderful aid to traveling in Ireland. Easy to use and complete. Don't know what we would have done without it. Its sturdy construction survived weeks of travel in our tiny rental car.

Drove all around Ireland (for the first time) and never got lost! Worth every penny we paid for it, and would buy it again.

Excellent supplement to GPS. Spiral bound maps easy to follow, with good city maps as well. A must for travel in Ireland.
