After being wrung through the emotional wringer of Neil's earlier writings , I about threw my Kindle when I read that his "first family" has a monument in the cemetery that he never visits, yet he's somehow comforted when others do.

Having said that, this collection of blog posts isn't nearly as draining to read, and pretty much sticks to the task at hand of touring by motorcycle... which is to say that we've all read it before.

I get that he's an introverted famous guy who enjoys riding in anonymity, but to me, that makes it all the more weird that he shares so much about himself in his books.

So yeah, I'm inspired to the point that I want to sell my Harley, buy a BMW, and start off for parts unknown... but my job requires my being there 40-50 hours a week. Peart puts more miles on a bike in one year than I do in a lifetime, and I respect him greatly for that, but when he refers to it as "riding to work" it somehow makes him sound disaffected or something.

I love ya Neil, and I've been a fan of your music since the late 70's... but if I ever run across you at a truck stop somewhere, I'll be sure to pretend that I don't know who you are.

It's an easier read than some of his other works, but honestly, it's the same old thing.
