I bought this book for my boyfriend who had recently been to Norway and fell in love with the language and wanted to learn. He has told me only wonderful things about it and uses it every day. He says it is easy to follow and provides for great practice. He has even been able to hold a conversation with his Norweigan friend quite well since using it. I would highly recommend this book.

This is at a basic level but even with some knowledge already I have found it useful revision, and fun. The CD is good for listening practice and pronunciation and the workbook offers lots of practical aids like sticky labels, study aids and other useful things like traffic signs, menu guides and conversions. I like the way that the new words you learn are then incorporated into the text and instructions but you are never left without the translations or help with correct pronunciation, which helps build confidence. You build on earlier learning, but are not left floundering by around page 5 as with so many other language learning books. You'll get much more from a trip to Norway if you've spent 10 minutes a day on this, and you'll have fun doing it. Of course you won't get much chance to practice in Norway because most people love to show off their excellent English, but you'll be able to read signs and menus and timetables, and hear the words and phrases you have learned spoken around you, and if you are lucky you'll find people who will let you practice! Enjoy x

This book was SO useful and easy to understand! I found that I learnt very quickly and was able to form sentences just after 4 pages or so.. Also, the idea of doing 10 minutes per day is a good one, because you don't get distracted/bored etc. there are sticky labels in there, where you can label many objects. Then when you glimpse the object, you instantly recognise the word and associate it with the object.
It was enjoyable and satisfying- can recommend it to anyone!

I purchased this book as a part of a class I was taking. It was easy to follow. Simple, direct, and nice illustrations. There were some topics for traveling which weren't covered, but most needed topics were included.

This product will help if you are planning a trip to Norway later on in the year. 10 Minutes a day is a sever understatement though. I believe it would take more like 20-30min a day of practice to learn the material in the book within a month or two. If you are planning on a trip and want to learn a few basic words just buy this book and make sure to leave 30 min a day to study it. You will learn what you need to get by the basics but it is what you need.
THIS IS NOT a complete language learning kit though. This will NOT teach you to speak fluent Norwegian. It will get you by as a tourist!
