Great guide though it should come with more maps and explain more about some provincial and national parks. I'm going to use it in my road trip around west Canada

I generally choose Lonely Planet guides but this one was a terrible disappointment and waste of money. It gives the very least information possible on each place, it's dull to read, and has none of the sparkle of other guides. I bought it because it was the most current book on Canada but won't make that mistake again. In fact, I will certainly think twice before buying another Lonely Planet guide after this. I'm currently traveling in Canada and each time I refer to this guide I feel cheated.

I'm a huge lonely planet fan, I carry these things around all the time for holidays. The information in the book is good. However, I have difficultly navigating it in the Kindle form. I bought two kindle books at the same time. It's hard to get to certain places in the book and I find myself just looking for advice on the net for things. I don't think I'll be buying these kindle additions in the future. I'll stick with the paper. I hope that helps.
Update: I stand corrected. On a Tablet it's better to navigate the book than on the computer. I'll still give it a 3 stars but if after my holiday I have found it easier to use, I'll upgrade my mark. 06/04/14

It's an ok guide to give an overall flavour of Canada. Suggest specific books for detailed information on each area. Canada is such a big place with so much to offer, it's impossible to have it all covered in one book.
