The great thing about DK is the photography. No photography in the Kindle version. Shame. These script ions could use some more detail too.

I have often enjoyed the DK series for travel. I love looking at all the pictures filling the pages. To get a good sense before you go. I was very disappointed to discover after purchasing that there are almost no pictures. And the pictures that are here are TINY (approximately 1 inch square on my tablet screen) If you click on an image it doesn't enlarge. So even though I thoroughly enjoy the DK paper versions, I won't be buying another DK anytime soon. I didn't take the time to look at the sample since I had previously used their paper books. I've learned my lesson!

Mostly pretty pictures without a lot of substance. It might be okay if you want a quick introduction before visiting the city but it would not be much use as an actual travel guide when you're there.

a nice inexpensive ebook overview but it is nothing like the full version of the guide that i purchased afterward. i was also able to e-book (pdf of a website) for free something similar.

We are going to this area in the fall. We needed a book that would be specific about the things we MUST see. This book does that and more. It is a good size for packing and carrying around the city.
We've been enjoying the pictures that accompany the information too.
