About the Author
Jude Angelini was born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan. He got his start as a guest and comic on The Jenny Jones Show and now hosts his own show, The All Out Show, on Sirius Satellite Radio. He loves reading Elmore Leonard, science fiction, and medieval fantasy, as well as antiquing and playing a good game of backgammon. He currently lives in Los Angeles.

I missed out on Jude's famous blog posts so when I heard he was writing a book instead, I purchased this in no time. I was expecting equal parts sincere, weird, funny & disgusting. Boy, I was in for a treat! The man has lived a crazy life and he hasn't even hit 40 yet. How he completed this book with all the outlandish stories and absurdest observations is pretty impressive for a first time author. The book is well written and honest, strung together very loosely in a narrative. I liked how he allowed the reader to enter a part of the authors life that most people would choose to hide, not embrace. Jude reminds me of Hunter S. Thompson in his prime and reading this totally confirms that. He keeps it all the way real. ALWAYS. Also, he may be a lot of things (even though I'm kind of a feminist and agree with about 50% of what he says) but he's a smart guy and a very illustrious writer. The only downside of this book is that it eventually ends. Buy buy buy.

This book is quite a feat of sexual and imaginative vigor. It's a dazzling mix of darkly profane humor, brutal self-exposure and existential crisis. The stories are reminiscent of the wild escapades of Bukowski or Thompson but there is a glaring distinction permeating throughout the book. In contrast to his poet laureate predecessors, Jude's postmodern blitheness unravels and shifts in proportions I can never quite determine. The progression of vibrant self-awareness in this book is arranged in a manner that is stylish and intensely hilarious. The stories are uncompromising, candid and delivered at a brilliant pace. There are elements of misanthropic nihilism and the kind of renegade obscenely horrifying misogyny that is sure to spark a Feminist fury. He has this uncanny way of neutralizing his vices by hitting you in the heart with devastatingly haunting portrayals of innocence. He is the debauched hero you will not be able to resist loving after reading these unforgettable stories. Highly recommended.

Wow, what an amazing book! Hyena had me thoroughly entertained the entire way through. Jude's stories are hilarious, engaging, disturbing, sad, profound...and did I mention hilarious? His literary voice is unique. His insights on life and society are spot on. If you're a fan of Rude Jude, then buy this book! If you're not a fan of Rude Jude, then you need to become a fan asap, and buy this book!

I picked this book up at noon during my lunch break and finished it today. I couldn't put it down. This book was absolutely magnetic. Jude is so incredibly talented in many ways to see him branch out with this book is phenomenal. This is definitely a must read.

Amazing book. Blew through it in about 4 hours... planning on reading it again soon. This shows a very different side of Jude than the one we hear on the radio. This book literally made me laugh out loud at points, and nearly tear up as well. Brilliantly and brutally honest. Excellent.

Buy this book, I have read it twice already. The insight provided by Jude is just unparalleled in regards to giving you the true raw-dog breakdown of what he has experienced in life. He covers the good, bad, and just insane segments that you just have to read about. If you like him on the radio, you will love him now. If you hate him on the radio, you will like him after this book. If you love the 'All Out Show' already and haven't purchased this book.....WTF are you doing with your life? This is a must read! Good looking out Jude!
