Review

A consummate political insider, Roger Stone views the JFK assassination through the prism of a murder investigator's first question, cui bono (who benefits)? Stone's shocking answer is that the primary suspect has been hiding in plain sight for 50 years: LBJ. A riveting account.
—Former U.S. Attorney David Marston

I think this is probably the most definitive book . . . the most speculation free and certainly the most rubbish free work I have ever read on the subject. You would be doing yourself an enormous favor to get it, read it, digest in, and maybe read it again.
—John B. Wells, Coast to Coast

Any serious student of politics or history should read Roger Stone's stunning new book The Man Who Killed Kennedy.

Stone's evidence is compelling and fascinating.
—Dick Morris, political author, commentator, and consultant

GREAT book, you have it covered very well.
—Phil Nelson, author of LBJ: The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination

Roger Stone is likely the only person who both had access to higher levels of government and is willing to stake his reputation on this particular theory.

Stone’s indictment of Lyndon Johnson deserves to be taken more seriously than anyone else’s.

About the Author

Roger Stone is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Man Who Killed Kennedy: The Case Against LBJ. He is a legendary political operative who served as a senior campaign aide to Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Senator Bob Dole. Stone would parlay being the youngest staff member of the Committee to Re-Elect the President in 1972 into being a conduit of secret memos from Ex-President Nixon to President Ronald Reagan throughout the 80s. A veteran of eight national presidential campaigns, Stone would spend hours talking politics with Nixon as confidant and adviser in his post-presidential years. Stone is known for his hardball tactics, deep opposition research, biting candor, and love of English custom tailoring. Stone serves as mens fashion correspondent for the Daily Caller.

Mike Colapietro is an investigative journalist and researcher who received his bachelors from Eastern Connecticut State and is studying for Masters from the University of South Florida. His work has appeared in the Tampa Bay Times, Smoke Magazine, and Yahoo.com.

Authors Craig Zirbel, Barr McClellan, and Philip Nelson, among others, have bravely tackled the LBJ-did-it aspect of the JFK assassination story beforehand, yet no one hits you straight between the eyes with authority and bravado like Roger Stone. A true insider with an incredible pedigree, Stone is to be commended for taking the literature to another level that will make "official history" authors such as Robert Caro and Robert Dallek stand up and take notice.

This book came with a lot of "hype" and a lot of "buzz"- many months of articles, news columns, and the like have generated tremendous interest in Stone's book. The wait was well worth it. I highly recommend that everyone with an interest in history and politics purchase this fine book asap- you will not be disappointed!

LBJ would be mortified and, quite frankly, that is a very good thing. BUY THIS BOOK!

This book is a perfect Christmas gift for anyone with an interest in American history or politics. It also makes a perfect Halloween gift for anyone affiliated with the LBJ Library, particularly Tom Johnson who channels the ghost of Jack Valenti, the longtime LBJ sychophant, who was letting his wife sleep with Lyndon Johnson.

Roger Stone has definitely made a fine contribution to the historical record of the JFK assassination with this effort. #1 he tells you that Richard Nixon immediately knew who Jack Ruby was the moment he saw him shoot Oswald on TV on 11/24/63 just 48 hours after the JFK assassination.

Nixon recognized Jack Ruby as a "Lyndon Johnson man" from the 1940's who LBJ had place on the HUAC committee as a paid informant. That one blockbuster nugget is worth the price of admission for this book.

It proves LBJ was using one of his mafia goons to do some "clean up" work on the JFK assassination so that the posthumous and now discredited "blame it all on Oswald" canard could begin, conveniently leaving LBJ and his Texas oil men out of the picture.

Stone indicts four groups in the JFK assassination: Lyndon Johnson, LBJ's Dallas, TX oil men, the mafia especially Carlos Marcello and the CIA.

My only quibble with that is I think Air Force generals Curtis LeMay and most especially Gen. Edward Lansdale were key players in the JFK assassination. I think both Allen Dulles (CIA and fired by JFK) and J. Edgar Hoover (so close to LBJ) were perps as well. Cuba policy, more so than Vietnam, was a big reason for the JFK assassination, especially among those folks doing the actual firing and shooting.
There is high quality material in Roger Stone's book that is nowhere else in JFK literature.

I pre-ordered the book and was excited to see it was coming early. I got it Friday afternoon and buzzed right through it over the weekend. Stone's case against LBJ is clear. To me, even more interestingly was seeing the case against LBJ in multiple other situations. You can see he was clearly involved in corrupt politics, and was willing to use lethal force to get what he wanted when he wanted.

The thing that struck me the most was the concise and clear documentation. Often books on this subject make vague notions, or simply imply things for the reader to put together. The author clearly knows the subject, and documents who and where the information came from.

All in all, I was very pleased with the book, and am excited to see what Stone and Colapietro have in store for us next!!

This book is another great one coming out on the 50th anniversary of the assassination. Many of the things I learned built upon what I already knew, such as LBJ having illegitimate children, etc., and his extreme sociopathic behavior.
Even so, I cannot understand how this person ever became President.
What the public knew and what was going on in private were two very different things for both LBJ and JFK. (Undoubtedly applies to today's White House as well.)
I am really glad this book calls out O'Reilly, Posner, and Bugliosi for not telling truth. It is as simple as that. There is just overwhelming evidence of the conspiracy. Emphasizing that the gun was a Mauser and that Oswald had no chemical indications of having fired a gun is crucial. Also the Zapruder film was altered and the autopsy was a reconstruction job.
Based on this book and what goes on in DC today, I think I will not ever vote again.
(just wanted to mention that page 5 "Peaked my interest" should be "Piqued".
Thanks!)

Stone takes the reader through a case that uses compelling and interesting evidence to make his point. On Jack Ruby, Stone says that although J. Edgar Hoover told Nixon that Kennedy’s assassin was a “communist,” Nixon would recognize Oswald’s killer Jack Ruby as a man he was introduced to by his top political advisor and Mob lawyer Murray Chotiner as early as 1947 as “one of Lyndon Johnson’s boys.

Just a lot of well documented material. Enough good reading that makes it hard to put this book down. Well worth the read and sure to be a best seller and a permanent part of my Kennedy collection.
