From the Back Cover

It starts as a story ripped from the headlines of the war-torn Middle East. An extremist faction of Islam bombs a church during a service. The one door in the back isn't big enough for five hundred people trying to escape.

Some are killed.

But after the chaos and fire and smoke, one young woman comes back to life.

In this thrilling true tale, death does not have the final word. From the first time Samaa heard the Lord Jesus calling her out of Islam into faith in Him, till she met Him face to face in heaven, her life is marked by God's supernatural love and power. Full of hope and encouragement, and overflowing with Jesus' love, her riveting account reveals the power of God to break through any circumstance--and is a moving reminder that, in a place beyond what we can imagine, we have a Savior waiting to welcome us face to face.

"This is a story I will never forget. Ever. This book will change your life. Get ready."--Bill Johnson, senior leader, Bethel Church, Redding, CA; author, When Heaven Invades Earth; co-author, The Essential Guide to Healing

"One of the most powerful testimonies to the reality and faithfulness of Jesus that I have ever read. You cannot come away from reading this book without being awed. . . . Samaa Habib's testimony is a story that must be heard."--Joel Richardson, New York Times bestselling author, teacher

"I am honored to know Samaa and have been encouraged by her faith in the Lord. Her story is one of great endurance and perseverance."--Mike Bickle, director, International House of Prayer

"In the midst of great opposition and unending persecution, Samaa takes us on a journey of heart-lifting hope. The depth of her prayer life and her resolute commitment to depend on Jesus will awaken you to know and share His matchless love."--Paul Eshleman, vice president of coverage, Campus Crusade for Christ International

"The writing is simple, clear and authentic, giving room to Habib's voice and providing many insights into Muslim culture. There are ideas presented that would be a great benefit to missionaries seeking to reach Muslims around the world, and there is much in this well written and encouraging book that will build up believers of all walks of life and callings.

With the testimony speaking of the person of Christ, the power of the Scriptures, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit to heal, guide and instruct, this would also make a great book to study with people who are new to the church and curious about what it looks like to live as a Spirit-filled Christian, à la the book of Acts, in contemporary society.

Face to Face With Jesus is riveting, wrenching and utterly compelling. Pick up a copy and take an amazing journey with the living, risen, reigning Jesus as He rescues, transforms and sends." --Foursquare.org

I find Samaa's story very moving, and also very inspiring.
Tegan H. Vandenbosch
As believers, we too often think about what to say...when really all we need to do is shine the light of Christ--to give love and hope to a world without either.
K. Palmer

Habib grew up in a Muslim family in a nation 98% Muslim and where radical Muslims considered Christian converts traitors worthy of horrible death.

She shares about the civil war in the country, Sunni and Shia Muslims fighting, seeing atrocities against civilians. At times her family crawled around in the house so they would not be shot through the windows. Her father went bankrupt and there was no more school for her.

Her life would change dramatically when she began attending a Taekwondo class. She was given a children's Bible and at age fourteen became a Christian. She attended church. She had a dream where Jesus appeared to her. She began to pray for her family. She was beaten by her brother, received threats from her neighbors, and hated by her father. She experienced miraculous protection from God as she was attacked several times.

There was a bombing in her church and Habib was badly injured with burns and a split skull. She died and went to heaven, seeing Jesus. He gave her the option to return to earth which she chose, giving her life to His service. She had a lengthy and miraculous recovery from here severe injuries, even while being persecuted by Muslim doctors and nurses. She continued to witness, first as a waitress, then a model and real estate agent. Miraculously, she went to the U.S. to mission school and then on mission journeys. She continues with the mandate to wake up the Church and encourage Christians to speak the Good News.

Habib reveals a great deal about Muslim culture and belief. About her conversion, along with several of her sisters, she wrote, “In Islam my father would be justified in killing us. It would be an honor killing as we lived in a shame culture and the only way to remove shame was by death.

A must read book. A real page turner.
Her experiences with God and what He does through her are amazing, including a chapter
on her visit to Heaven.
The author often backs up her comments with verses from the Bible.
Many interesting facts about the Muslim beliefs are given.
Another outstanding book: "I Dared to Call Him Father", by Bilquis Sheikh.
Both books are among the best you'll find.

Face to Face with Jesus is an interesting read although, for me, it raised questions for which I could find no answer. On the plus side, it did bring home to me the reality of living through civil war and also experiencing intense persecution for faith. Having never gone through those things, I feel the story made me more sensitive to the sufferings of Christians under repressive governments. On the negative side, I couldn't find anything to validate the story. For me, autobiographies should carry some internal validity. I understand the need for hiding the author's identity and have read other books about Middle Eastern conversions from Islam to Christianity. I know this can be very dangerous, not only for the person who converts but for their relatives as well. But I've never read a book with the disclaimer that all names have been changed, some locations have been changed, and some details have been changed - when the country isn't even named at all. This, plus the fact that the author did modeling in her country before coming to the WEst - a high profile sort of life - and has since "gone around the world" telling her story, makes me wonder why there is such intense secrecy to the extent that no country or city is named and none of the geographic and cultural facts, when taken as a whole, seem to fit any one region. Also, the last chapter of the book seems pretty weird when it talks about diamonds appearing everywhere the author went on a recent mission tour.

Like a lot of the reviews, I did NOT receive a free copy of this book. I actually purchased this at Wal-mart for my husband to read while we were at the beach, We are Catholic and he's a pretty devout guy. He read it first, in a couple of days and like the preface of the book reminded him of the Acts of the Apostles. I read it as well. Lots of miracles happen and honestly it made me a skeptic. I'm afraid many people will develop a false hope that if you pray and fast like Samaa-miracles WILL happen. Listen, Samaa most certainly lived a life so foreign to me that I cannot imagine going through the hell that she did. I'm glad that she and her family found Jesus. I have the utmost respect for missionaries and those who evangelize their faith. I have never done such a thing! I do not know if these events and miracles happened or not, I can only accept that she is truthful in her journey. Lastly, I do accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior and certainly believe prayer is a very powerful tool. This book made me realize I need to do more....

Samaa Habib was raised as a Muslim, but there was a hunger inside her. She wanted to know God, but Allah never answered her prayers. Never spoke to her. In the middle of a war that tore her nation to shreds, she finally called out to a Man named Jesus. Since Allah never responded to her pleas, would this Christian God her friend told her about hear her? The response was immediate, and Samaa learned that Jesus was the God who was alive. The God who loved her and had a plan for her life. Samaa's experience with Jesus not only changed her life, but it changed the lives of her family and her friends. Her message to the world is one of reconciliation, love, and forgiveness.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to reach out to a world that needs to know the reality of Jesus and His great love for them.
