“The ‘Must Buy’ Book of the Summer” (Hugh Hewitt)

“Daniel Halper is a such a good reporter, I’ve tried to hire him three times. Few people in Washington have better sources or a sharper eye for detail. Halper gets the story every time and, trust me, there’s a story here.” (Tucker Carlson, Co-Host, FOX & Friends Weekend, and Editor-in-Chief, The Daily Caller)

: “Halper’s study is juicy and gossipy, yet scrupulously researched, drawing on numerous on-the-record conversations (as well as many not-for-attribution interviews) with prominent Democrats and Clinton insiders, past and present.” (Lloyd Grove, The Daily Beast)

“The Clintons reside at the peak of the American power elite. Halper explains, in riveting detail, how they got there and how they stay there. But Halper hasn’t just produced a must-read. He’s also opened an important--and disturbing--window into the current state of American politics and society.” (William Kristol, Editor, The Weekly Standard)

“If you think you know all there is to know about the Clintons, Daniel Halper proves you wrong. Read this highly informative, appropriately excoriating book about the once and perhaps-future FIrst Couple--and consider yourself warned.” (Rich Lowry)

From the Back Cover

How did Bill and Hillary Clinton plot a comeback from the depths of disgrace to the pinnacle of American politics and the ranks of the global elite?

Thirteen years ago, Bill and Hillary Clinton left the White House under a cloud, dogged by sordid sexual scandals, a series of highly compromising investigations, and last-minute pardons that won widespread bipartisan condemnation. Even many Democrats were glad to see them go. Yet within just a few years Bill had secured a new reputation as a global humanitarian and Democratic Party elder statesman, and Hillary was running for president. Despite her 2008 loss to Barack Obama, Hillary bounced back to become one of the most powerful and respected figures in his cabinet. Along the way, she and Bill have gone from being virtually penniless to millionaires many times over.

Today the Clintons are among the most popular politicians in America—respected and feared by Republicans and Democrats alike. Their transformation has been so complete that it takes an effort to recall just how low their fortunes were a decade ago. Hillary is already the presumptive frontrunner for 2016, while Bill jets around the world dispensing advice, making deals and collecting huge fees. Meanwhile, Chelsea Clinton has emerged as a formidable public figure in her own right.

None of this happened by accident. Behind the Clintons' remarkable comeback is an untold story of strategic calculation, backroom deals, reckless gambles, and an unquenchable thirst for wealth and power.

In Clinton, Inc., Weekly Standard reporter Daniel Halper compiles a wealth of research, exclusive documents, and candid interviews with former Clinton administration officials, senators, congressmen, friends, allies, and former enemies of the Clintons to reveal how they rebuilt their reputations, reconstructed their political machine, and positioned themselves for even greater success. Clinton, Inc. describes in intimate detail how the Bill and Hillary partnership works: they are, in effect, dual CEOs of a single enterprise, often playing both sides of the street, sometimes at odds with each other, but always focused on the ultimate goal of reclaiming political power.

Halper provides new insights into their deals with Barack Obama and the inner workings of their surprising friendship with the Bush family; how the Clintons managed to pacify their once most bitter enemies; how Bill and Hillary are laying the groundwork for Hillary's upcoming presidential campaign; and how Vice President Biden and other Democrats are trying to maneuver around her. He reveals the Clintons' plans for Chelsea's future and the lengths to which they will go to protect her carefully cultivated image. Halper also reveals the secrets of the Clintons' skillful media management, the survival of the Clintons' marriage, as well as the Clintons' financial backers and hidden corporate enterprises. The book also discusses a comprehensive Republican effort to bring their ambitions to a halt.

Compulsively readable and filled with juicy scoops and inside information, Clinton, Inc. is the key to understanding America's most powerful political couple.

Though I lean more conservative and/or MOR than the Clintons on a host of issues, for reasons I can't define I've never been able to dislike them--and as a New Yorker I felt Hilary represented my interests well in Washington. I can't help but admire the scrappiness of a poor kid in Arkansas who scrambled to the top of the political dog heap; I also never assumed that Clinton hadn't gotten there without very sharp elbows. (As someone who's seen him up close and shaken hands with him, I get his appeal--his charisma is astoundingly palpable; as a woman, though, I find him repellent for his general degradation of women; who but a sex predator, really, cons an insecure, chubby young woman in their employ into giving him oral sex? Think about that. Really.)

So for those same reasons I'm enjoying Halper's book; it's confirming and fleshing out my sense that this is a very smart, very cunning, very complex couple, presented more fully here than I'd expected. I'd been a little bit concerned that the book might be an anti-Clinton screed, but it's far more nuanced than that. As a professional journalist for national publications, I hear Halper is more a straight-shooting political reporter than a polemicist; I approached the book with caution nonetheless as I'm generally wary of political journalists and find them really, really, really tiresome. This, however, is fascinating reading.

As America prepares for a possible third Clinton term, this provides something that I hadn't thought possible: Fresh investigative journalism into the Clinton machine. Sure, there are the juicy gossip tidbits that draw the headlines, but in reality the book is just good journalism, meticulously crafted and researched with care. This isn't a hit piece, it's a detailed account of what could possibly be the first husband-wife duo to serve terms as president. Everyone, regardless of how they feel about the Clintons, should read this.

With ‘Clinton, Inc.’ author Daniel Halper managed to create well-researched title which speaks about currently most powerful couple in politics – Hillary and Bill Clinton.

Halper who works as editor in Weekly Standard conducted numerous interviews and went through archive materials which provide good behind-the-scenes view how Clintons were able not only to become most powerful politicians but also earn a lot of money.

Therefore this book is not for or against Republicans or Democrats, because author shows these days both political parties respect Bill and Hillary and it seems that maybe even fear them with regard to their networking with representatives of both political options.

Because of above mentioned ‘Clinton, Inc.’ will be treat for those interested in political games, deals and maneuvers, because it seems that these spouses in these are unequaled as soon surely Hilary nomination for president will prove.

Highly recommended and for sure a book that will be subject of many talks.

"Clinton, Inc." clearly has the Clintons worried. Their people have been spinning furiously against it, trying to lump Daniel Halper in with Ed Klein.

This is nonsense. Halper's book is meticulously researched and extremely credible. It builds a persuasive narrative about the Clintons in the 14 years since Bill Clinton left the White House. Above all, it strikes at the very heart of the theme of the budding Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign, an assault upon income inequality. As Halper makes clear, the Clintons "cashed in" on their time in public service in ways that the average schmo simply cannot.

Little wonder the Clintons are so nervous about this book.

Awesome. Only a third of the way through it but it has the makings of an expose of the smarmy Clinton Machine.
Hilary's enemy lists, aides who are loyal to the death, and the cut throat, win at any cost life of the "people who left the White House in debt"...A must read.

This is a well-researched and written "reality" book about the "power of power" and how in "certain dynastically expert" hands possessed by only few on the planet (The Clintons and their network, including the new Governor of Virginia and others), it can be perpetuated and grown. It takes shrewd, vicious, Machiavellian, narcissistic, genuis to convert an Arkansas governorship into the most powerful political force arguably in the world, focused on one thing--the power of power. This book shows not the niceties of glossed over self-serving autobiographies, but the reality of the brutal political world the Clinton's happily thrive in--together. Quite scary, but very detailed and credible. The Bush's were an accidental Dynasty The Clinton's are well-oiled machine with the aim of perpetuating theirs through the foundations, fundraisers, remaining relevant, etc. The Obama Dynasty will be the next and theirs will likelt be attempted through celebrity, intelligence, relevance, and "cool." The book shows how scary the power of power can really be. I recommend it highly.
