loved it. Chick fil A is more than just another business. It's a business with a heart and a purpose lead by a man who cares more about people than profit. As a result the business has both touched the lives of many while earning a great profit. Reminds me of the quote by C.S. Lewis "Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither."

This is definitely NOT a "how to" book to start a business. Rather it's bits of wisdom compiled by Cathy and his staff over the years highlighting how he built his business. He offers many caveats and axioms when starting/running a business, such as: "success won't happen until you want to" (chap 1), or make sure your personal timing is right to start a business (chap 2), or "don't be burdened with personal debt" if you want to see your goals come true (chap 9). Similar books in this genre are, Sam Walton: Made in America and David Green's More Than a Hobby. All of these titles I enjoyed very much, and would recommend them, but expect to get a more philosophical idea of how to run a business (or succeed at anything really) than a nuts and bolts strategy to begin and run one.

Fantastic retelling of Mr. Cathy's inspirational story told from his (and some of those closest to him) perspective(s). Very quick read with some glimpses into the business model of Dwarf House and Chick-Fil-A.

Truett Cathy has inspired me to be the best that I can be as a small business owner. He gives insight into the success of Chick Fil-A and shares principles and ideals that can be replicated. I'm inspired by his work ethic and his can-do attitude. I love the way he gets the right people on his team. I'm also a more informed Chick Fil-A consumer.

A pity some of the bigger "boys" in fast food did not follow his example. Keeping It Simple and always adhering to your core beliefs, product and standards was relevant last century, is relevant now and always will be. Follow Truett's example and it is hard to fail.

This book is a simple, succinct, supportive collection of stories and principles, which is a lot like a meal at Chick-fil-A: simple, customer friendly, and nourishing. My favorite parts were "Identifying the Product" and the presentation of the "Second-Mile Service" idea.

I bought this as part of a 3 book set while in one of the restaurants. That morning, a friend on facebook joking suggested that we open up a Chick-fil-a franchise in Canada. That afternoon, I was in a Chick-fil-a and noticed these books. I was supposed to buy them I thought and so I did.

Here is a great story about how living your life with integrity and character is the only way to live. Even if you're running a business. In this day and age, it's easy to forget that there are incredible successful business people and CEOs who do care about their customers and also their employees.

This was exactly what I needed to read as I start my own personal business. It's a pleasant reminder that living an honorable life spreads peace and happiness to all those around you. Again, it was incredible affirmation to know that how I have been living my life in the last 6 months is the "right " way.

Thank you to S. Truett Cathy for sharing his stories and wisdom in an age where many of us have lost sight of what is truly important in life. Each other.
