SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE DIRECTED BY CLINT EASTWOOD

A celebration of the remarkable life and legacy of fallen American hero Chris Kyle.

This commemorative memorial edition of Kyle's bestselling memoir features the full text of American Sniper, plus more than eighty pages of remembrances by those whose lives he touched personally—including his wife, Taya; his parents, brother, and children; Marcus Luttrell and other fellow Navy SEALs; veterans and wounded warriors; lifelong friends; and many others.

He was the top American sniper of all time, called "the legend" by his navy seal brothers, and a hero by those he served with on the home front . . .

From 1999 to 2009, Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle's account of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the greatest war memoirs of all time. American Sniper also honors Kyle's fellow warriors, who raised hell on and off the battlefield. And in moving first-person accounts throughout, Kyle's wife, Taya, speaks openly about the strains of war on their marriage and children.

From Barnes & Noble

Chris Kyle authored two coast-to-coast bestsellers, but he only lived to see one published. His American Gun was in final proofs in February when this former elite Navy SEAL sharpshooter was shot and killed by a fellow military veteran. This special memorial edition of his autobiography American Sniper contains 50 pages of new material, including an epilogue; a foreword by his widow Tara; remembrances from friends and former SEAL teammates; and never-before-published photographs. Battlefield bravery and one great loss.

Marcus Luttrell
"In the community of elite warriors, one man has risen above our ranks and distinguished himself as unique. Chris Kyle is that man. A master sniper, Chris has done and seen things that will be talked about for generations to come."
Charles W. Sasser
"The raw and unforgettable narrative of the making of our country’s record-holding sniper, Chris Kyle’s memoir is a powerful book, both in terms of combat action and human drama. Chief Kyle is a true American warrior down to the bone, the Carlos Hathcock of a new generation."
(USN) - Richard Marcinko
"American Sniper is the inside story of what it’s like to be in war. A brave warrior and patriot, Chris Kyle writes frankly about the missions, personal challenges, and hard choices that are part of daily life of an elite SEAL Sniper. It’s a classic!"
Booklist
"Reads like a first-person thriller narrated by a sniper. The bare-bones facts are stunning. .... A first-rate military memoir."

Meet the Author

Chris Kyle

SEAL Team 3 chief Chris Kyle served four combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and elsewhere. For his bravery in battle, he was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation, and numerous other citations. Following his combat deployments, he became chief instructor for training Naval Special Warfare Sniper and Counter-Sniper teams, and he authored the Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine, the first Navy SEAL sniper manual.

Kyle is the author of the New York Times #1 bestseller American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History. He became president of Craft International (www.craftintl.com), a world-class leader in training and security, and cofounded the FITCO Cares Foundation. He lived with his family in Texas, where he devoted much of his spare time to supporting veterans.

As this book was being completed, Chris Kyle and his trusted friend Chad Littlefield died while trying to help a troubled veteran. Chief Kyle lived by a personal motto that "it is our duty to serve those who serve us," and he and Littlefield died honoring this creed.

Scott McEwen is a trial lawyer in San Diego, California. An Eagle Scout, he grew up hunting with long-range rifles in Oregon.

Jim DeFelice is the co-author of the #1 New York Times bestseller American Sniper. DeFelice is the author of Omar Bradley: General at War, the first in-depth critical biography of America’s last five-star general. He also writes a number of acclaimed military thrillers, including the Rogue Warrior series from Richard Marcinko, founder of SEAL Team 6, and the novels in the Dreamland series with Dale Brown.

    Highly Recommended

It was interesting to read about Chris Kyle's early life and how it shaped his values, and then to learn about what it took to become a Navy SEAL. It gave me a much greater appreciation for what it takes to reach that level of service to our country. I found the description of his difficult transition from Warrior to Family Man and Resource to our returning troops to be an incredible journey. It would have been an honor to have met him had I been given that opportunity.

    This is a must read.

If you ever wanted to know the mindset of our soldiers, their courage and how they see patriotism as a part of who they are: (isn't everyone)? This is a touching, feelings filled book of the life of the courageous men and women that put their lives on the line, so that we remain, the home of the strong and the free. Now matter how you feel about the politics of war, you must read this to understand it's not all political, there are men and women dying for us. This book gives a shout out and a salute to all of them. God Bless Them.

One of the Best American Military History/BIO Books I have ever Read!

I have read hundreds of military history books from across the world. This is one of the most touching and thought provoking ones I have read. Chris Kyle was a great man and a great warrior, he always put his humanity first, however. I CANNOT recommend this highly enough. All of the Kyle family proceeds go to veterans charities and help to continue the work he started.
