Muscles, mystery, and emotions dominate Foster’s Ultimate series launch. Cannon Colter helped save flirty Yvette Sweeny’s life. As much as he wanted to make her his, she was too young and the time wasn’t right, so he spent the next three years building a career as a mixed martial arts fighter and putting Yvette out of his mind. Then the death of Yvette’s grandfather reunites Cannon and Yvette in a small Ohio town. Yvette is finally able to confront her past, her feelings for Cannon, and her struggle to trust him, but can the sweetly burgeoning romance survive the machinations of those work against it? The romance simmers slowly and mystery is woven into the plot. Foster (Dash of Peril) cleverly builds three-dimensional characters to populate the predictable but well told and satisfying story. Agent: Paige Wheeler, Creative Media Agency. (Sept.)

Rising mixed martial arts star Cannon Colter comes home to Warfield, Ohio, to learn he's the recipient of an inheritance that ties him to a local business and to Yvette Sweeny, the girl he never forgot. Cannon Colter is a hero, in the ring and in his lower-middle-class neighborhood in (fictional) Warfield. Years ago, he took a stand against some unsavory characters—"[His mom's] insistence on staying put was Cannon's number one reason for learning to fight...determined to protect his mother and his sister"—which ultimately led to his career. But before he started fighting professionally, he helped save the life of an area pawnshop owner and his granddaughter, Yvette, when they were targeted by a violent gang of criminals. Yvette left for California soon after, but Cannon's never forgotten the pretty girl he grew up with and whose life hung in the balance during those tense hours. Now her grandfather has left a deathbed request that Cannon help Yvette overcome her bad memories and move back to Ohio, where she has returned to settle her grandfather's estate. Cannon reluctantly agrees, torn between wanting Yvette and not wanting to take advantage of her vulnerability. Meanwhile, Yvette is disgusted by her perceived inability to make Cannon see her as anything but a victim. The situation goes from bad to worse when a stalking ex-boyfriend begins to harass her and some shadowy enemy seems to want to drive her out of town. Yvette's bid to be seen as a strong, independent woman occasionally has her coming across somewhere between annoying and stupid, a rare character blip for this popular author. Nonetheless, the sexual tension is electric. Foster's new series revolves around Cannon's gym and his MMA friends but links seamlessly to her popular Love Undercover titles. Readers will be thrilled with Foster's new sexy batch of fight club heroes and the women who love them.

Read an Excerpt

Coiled tight with tension, Cannon sat in the leather chair and faced the lawyer's desk with loaded impatience. From head to toe, his battered body ached, but at present his mind focused on less-physical issues. After finally landing back in the States, he'd planned to spend the day in the hot tub, and the night in bed—with enough female company to help him forget how close he'd come to losing his last fight.

Three days ago he'd taken on the biggest challenge of his career, his most publicized bout on the main card for the Supreme Battle Championship—in Japan with a packed house and a lot of expectation from the organization.

Though he'd taken plenty of hits himself, he'd been beating his opponent on points…and then he'd fucked up.

After catching a kick to the liver, he'd lost his air, bent double in excruciating pain, and was going down. Only pure instinct had helped him throw one last punch when his opponent had charged in for the kill.

That punch had landed dead center on the Pit Bull's glass jaw. Lights out.

He'd struggled to stand upright while the other man came back around, and the fight had ended with him as the winner. But damn, it had been close, and being the winner didn't negate the hits and kicks he'd absorbed. He needed some R & R.

However, all his plans for taking it easy had gone awry when he'd gotten summoned back to Warfield, Ohio. It was a three-hour drive, and usually when he made the trip, he visited friends first thing.

This time, though, he waited around as a stuffy lawyer flipped through paperwork and a female assistant gave him the eye.

"Ah, here we are," the lawyer said, rattling his damn papers and looking at Cannon over the top of his reading glasses. "I'm sorry for the delay. Since I had expected you yesterday, you've taken me off guard."

The rebuke was wasted on Cannon. "Like I said, I was out of the country." Shifting, he tried not to flinch from his many aches.

"Japan, yes?"

Unwilling to encourage more chitchat, he gave a single nod.

Again sorting papers, the lawyer said, "You're a fighter? Isn't that right?"

"Yes."

"The SBC?"

"Yeah." Hell, he had the fight club logo on his T-shirt. He sat forward, his forearms on his thighs. He had no idea what this was about, but he wanted to get to it. "Look, how much longer is this going to take?"

Frank Whitaker divided papers into three stacks. "I only need a moment to get organized."

Organized with what? Cannon knew this had something to do with Tipton Sweeny, a local pawnshop owner who'd recently passed away. "If I hadn't been out of the country, I would have attended the funeral." And maybe seen Yvette, Tipton's granddaughter.

Just thinking about her stoked up his tension.

Without looking away from his papers, the fiftysomething, overweight lawyer said, "I'm sure everyone understands."

Cannon had only known Tipton as a local business owner, a staple in the community he loved. His granddaughter, Yvette, attended school with Cannon's sister. That was where any real relationship ended.

Except that Yvette had always flirted with him, he'd always avoided her…right up until the day he'd kissed her, the day he'd wanted to go on kissing her and more—after helping to rescue her from perverted thugs.

Shit, shit, shit.

He didn't want to think about that, about her. So much time had passed, and still she had the ability to blow his composure.

How was she? Still in California apparently, or she'd be the one here dealing with…whatever had to be dealt with. "Didn't Tipton have other relatives?"

"Yes, I'm sure he did."

So how the hell was Cannon involved?

Cannon watched the assistant glide in, leading with her big breasts. A wave of perfume drifted with her. She handed more documents to the disorganized suit and then, smiling at Cannon, moved close enough to brush her thigh against his. Smiling down at him, she touched his knee. "Would you like a cola? Coffee?"

Trying not to be too obvious, he moved out of her reach. With women, he always stayed cool.

Except for that time with Yvette.

"Water would be nice. Thanks."

"Of course." She shifted her hand to his shoulder, stroked, felt his muscle beneath the soft cotton of his faded T-shirt and then trailed off. "I'll get it right now."

Being a guy, and therefore not immune to a come-on, Cannon looked her over more closely as she left. She had one of those supercurvy figures that got enhanced with a cinched suit, skirt and soft blouse. High-heeled pumps showed off her sexy calves. Big breasts, full hips, twisted-up pale blond hair. She wore her sexuality out there, almost bludgeoning him with her interest, her sly looks and the occasional lick of her shiny red lips.

Women hit on him, no big deal. But never in a lawyer's office under these circumstances.

Was she doing the lawyer? Were her blatant come-ons to make Whitaker jealous? Cannon eyed the older man, wondering if he'd even noticed the dozen different ways his assistant had already made her interest known.

Not that he was cynical or anything. And not that he was biting.

At least…he didn't think he was. Still, when she came back in and leaned down farther than necessary to hand him the glass of ice water and napkin, Cannon went ahead and checked out her cleavage. Her skin looked soft, but that overpowering perfume assaulted his nostrils until he looked away.

The lawyer stacked his papers and took off his glasses. "Thank you, Mindi. I'll let you know if we need anything else."

Accepting the abrupt dismissal, she nodded. "I'll be at my desk." Behind the lawyer, Mindi paused in the doorway, made a show of looking Cannon over from shoulders to knees, her sultry gaze lingering on his crotch. She gave another slow lick of her lips and…yeah, okay, he was maybe a little interested.

Hell, he'd been so involved in training, traveling for the fight and then the fight itself, he'd suffered self-imposed celibacy for too long.

But for right now, Cannon gave his full attention back to Whitaker. What could the man possibly need from him that took so damn many papers and notes?

Finally, somber in his preparedness, the lawyer folded his hands together and stared directly at Cannon. "You have inherited property and funds from Mr. Sweeny."

Whoa. A surge of fear brought Cannon forward. His heart thumped heavily in his chest. "Did something happen to Yvette?"

Bushy brows coming together, the lawyer slid his glasses back on, sifted through the goddamned papers and shook his head. "You're talking about Ms. Sweeny, the granddaughter?"

"Yes."

"She has inherited, as well."

Relief sent oxygen back into his lungs. Jesus. Cannon pinched the bridge of his bruised nose, annoyed by his over-the-top reaction. But then, with Yvette, it had always been that way.

The lawyer went on. "And in fact, Mr. Sweeny has evenly divided his assets between the two of you."

No way. "Between Yvette and me?"

"Yes."

Blank, Cannon sat on the edge of his seat and tried to sort it out—without success. "I don't get it. Why would he do that?"

"He left you a letter." The lawyer handed over an envelope. "I trust it will explain what I can't. But what I can explain is that Mr. Sweeny came to me three years ago with very detailed instructions on the distribution of his assets in the event of his demise. He revisited once a year to amend and further clarify as his financial status fluctuated. I saw him for the last time two months ago when his health started to decline."

"He had a stroke?"

The lawyer nodded, hesitated, then again folded his hands on the desk and dropped the officious attitude. "Tipton had become a friend. He was alone and I'd just lost my wife…" Whitaker shrugged.

"I'm sorry."

He tilted his chin to acknowledge that. "Tipton's blood pressure was high and he knew he wasn't well. He seemed to dismiss the first stroke, but the next was worse and the third worse still. That's when he finally closed up the pawnshop."

So he hadn't closed up shop three years ago, after the vicious attacks, as Cannon had always assumed.

"He was being treated, seeing the specialist on a regular basis, but he figured it was only a matter of time…."

Seeing the sadness on the lawyer's face sent guilt clawing through Cannon. Damn it, he should have gone to visit Tipton more. He'd known about the first stroke, but not the two after that—and then he'd been in Japan when Tipton's body gave up the fight. "Yvette was with him?"

Shaking his head, Whitaker said, "He didn't want to burden her." A measure of easiness showed on his face as he collected his thoughts. "I gather all of you shared an experience. Tipton never shared the details, but I assume it was something life altering?" He didn't wait for Cannon to give details. "His granddaughter moved away because of it and Tipton didn't want a sense of responsibility to bring her back, not, he said, when he knew her trips home were still difficult for her. He wanted her to return on her own terms, not out of a sense of obligation."

Bombarded with uncomfortable emotions, Cannon got up to pace the small office. Yeah, he imagined Yvette struggled anytime she had to be in town. No girl should ever have to suffer what she had. There were times when the memory of it hit him like a wild haymaker, leaving him dazed, angry, in a cold sweat.

And he wasn't the one who'd been threatened in the worst possible way.

Remembering softened his voice. "She didn't know Tipton was sick?"

"Like you, she knew of the first stroke. But Tipton felt strongly about carrying his burden alone." Chagrined, the lawyer shook his head and said, "No, I'm afraid that's not precise. He wanted you to share his burden. He said you could handle it." The lawyer gestured at the letter.

"It's in there."

A burden? More confused than ever, Cannon tapped the letter to his thigh. "So what are the rest of those papers?"

"Deeds, bank statements, debts to be paid, retirement funds." He shook two sets of keys out of a padded envelope. "Responsibilities."

Chewing his upper lip, Cannon stared at the papers—and had the god-awful urge to hand back the letter. His plate was full, and then some. He could handle it, that wasn't the problem.

It was Yvette.

Could he handle her, the way she affected him?

More to the point, could he resist her now if she needed him? Just thinking about her, hearing her name, had his muscles tightening in that familiar way. "You said deeds?"

"One for the house, one for the business."

"The pawnshop?"

"Yes."

"The last I'd heard," Cannon admitted, "he was going to sell it." After what had happened, he'd expected Tipton to sell the house as well, but he'd stayed put.

"No. He continued to work until the health issues forced him to retire. Said it was cathartic for him to stay busy. He also redecorated the house." The lawyer shrugged. "It was home to him."

Home. Cannon nodded in understanding. His mother had felt the same, refusing to budge from her house, the neighborhood, even after they'd lost his dad to extortionists.

Her insistence on staying put was Cannon's number one reason for learning to fight. He'd lost his dad, so he had been determined to protect his mother and sister. And he had—until his mother had passed away with cancer. Now it was just him and his sister, and…whatever it was Tipton had embroiled him in.

More than a little intrigued, Cannon asked, "So now what?"

"You sign a few papers and take ownership alongside Ms. Sweeny. Fifty-fifty. The two of you can decide to stay put, sell or one can buy out the other."

Cannon shook his head. "Have you seen Yvette?" He couldn't imagine her wanting the house, but even if she did, where would she get the funds? She'd be…twenty-three now. Still young for such responsibilities.

But finally old enough…for him.

"She was in yesterday."

Had Yvette expected him to be there, as well? Looked forward to it?

Or maybe dreaded it?

He hated the thought that seeing him might dredge up a past better forgotten.

Whitaker turned the papers, placed an ink pen on top and pushed them toward Cannon. "If you wouldn't mind?"

He wasn't about to sign anything until he'd read it all and figured it out.

The lawyer sighed, pushed back his chair and stood. "Read Tipton's letter. I'm sure it'll all make sense then."

"You know what's in it?"

Whitaker looked away. "No, of course I don't. Tipton gave it to me sealed." Suspicions rose.

Clearing his throat, the lawyer met his gaze. "I know…knew Tipton. He had a strong mind right up to the end. He knew what he was doing, what he wanted."

And he wanted something from Cannon.

Coming around his desk, the lawyer clasped his shoulder. "I'll give you a few minutes." And with that he stepped out of the office, closing the door behind him.

Walking over to a window, Cannon leaned a shoulder on the wall and studied the envelope. It was sealed, all right, closed with tape wrapped completely around it. He tore off one end of the envelope. With a sense of foreboding, he pulled out two neatly typed, folded papers. Opening them, he skimmed over the type to see Tipton's signature at the bottom.

Going back to the first page, he began to read. Each word made his heart beat heavier with trepidation—and anticipation.

Yes, Tipton knew what he wanted. He'd spelled it all out in great detail. One particular paragraph really got to Cannon.

This is her home, Cannon. No matter what, she should be here. She always trusted you and you were always there, such a good boy.

Despite the enormity of what Tipton wanted, a touch of humor curved Cannon's mouth. Being that he was twenty-six, only a grandpa would call him a boy.

I know it's a lot to ask, especially after you already risked your life for us. But she's too cautious now, too guarded. If you'll agree, I know you can free her from the nightmares so she can be her carefree, happy self again.

Did Tipton mean literal nightmares? Or just the nasty memories of being attacked, threatened with the worst a woman could suffer?

No, he didn't want to think about that now; it still enraged him, the helplessness, the fear he'd felt while being an unwilling spectator to the cruelty.

What a grandfather considered guarded could just be maturity. Just how free did he want Yvette to be?

The lawyer walked back in. Cannon ignored him as he finished reading.

If it's necessary, if your life is now too busy or if she won't agree, go ahead and sell both places with a clear conscience. But selling will require emptying the house—and that will bring about different problems for her.

What did that mean? What type of problems came with finalizing a sale?

In my heart, I know she'll be happier here in Ohio, in Warfield, than she could ever be in California. Whatever you decide, Cannon, please don't tell her about this letter. Not yet. And please know, regardless, you will always have my deepest gratitude. Sincerely, Tipton Sweeny Familiar feelings stirred up, feelings he'd long ago tamped down and then forgotten. Or tried to forget. God knew he'd done his best to demolish them, to sweat them out in the gym, fight them out in the ring.

Screw them away with willing women.

But, damn it all, every sensation Yvette inspired was still there, rooted deep.

Taut with anticipation, he asked, "Where's Yvette now?"

"I'm not sure," the lawyer said. He stood behind his desk, but didn't take his seat. "She took a set of keys, so perhaps she's at the house."

Disquiet kicked Cannon in the gut, adding to the aches and pains left over from his recent fight. Would Yvette go there alone? He shrugged off the urge to race to her rescue.

Again.

He'd done that once—and then she'd walked away. Moved away.

Across the country to California.

    MY REVIEW:

This book had me laughing out loud and screaming at the characters at times. I love the history given on these two and found that Ms Foster really set it up beautifully. The tension throughout had me so damn frustrated, but it was well worth the wait. The bond these two had made it hard for either of them to look away when the heroine suddenly returns to town. The fact that a will is involved when she suffers a family death, gives the hero a chance to step in and claim something, or someone, he's wanted for too damn long. Toss in the mixup of his old playboy ways, and boom, watch the fireworks explode. Fun, sexy, sweet, and tough...you'll love every minute of this book.

Overall, I liked Yvette's character, however my like/dislike of her kept going up and down. I assumed (incorrectly, I might add) that the trauma she'd survived three years ago might have made her skittish around men, abhor violence and make her avoid any romantic entanglements and even sex. The main barrier her character had to overcome throughout the story were mainly three other things: 1) she felt shame at being the center of attention and gossip, 2) she wanted Cannon to see her as any other woman and not as a victim and 3) not being able to climax during sex.

I liked her quiet, gentle nature, and her modesty. I also liked her ability to confide in Cannon without trying too hard to keep certain things a secret. It was also funny to see all the guys make her blush with their blunt talk.

Five or six chapters before the end, is when my disappointment set in. That far in, she was still questioning everything Cannon had told her (and let me say he made things crystal clear from the beginning), and she believed lies she was told about Cannon rather than trust in what she knew of him. It felt like Yvette hadn't made any progress. There was too much back and forth with her insecurities.

Cannon was such a caring person, not only to his friends, but also to the people in town in general. Despite him being famous, he never put on airs about his success. After reuniting with Yvette, his single-minded focus on her wasn't of the creepy stalker type (that honor when to her ex). Cannon wasn't just looking to hook up with her, in fact, he didn't seem to mind the idea of making them more. I was actually surprised this hero was so up front, blunt, and honest about what he wanted.

Don't expect a lot of juicy love scenes between these two (oral sex at the end of Ch11, and their first time having sex happened in Ch21). The torturous slow burn was a little frustrating, but it suited them. I enjoyed Cannon's confidence in being able to give her what she'd never had, and he was so sweet in fighting his urges to be what she needed.

The suspense portion was a nice addition, and while I had suspected the identity of the vandal, the actual conclusion was a little surprising. I thought it would have been something more personal, directed at Yvette. The climax just lacked something I couldn't put my finger on.

For me, the close camaraderie between all the guys and the set-ups between various side characters stole the show. Especially the crazy tension between Armie and Merissa, Cannon's sister. I also liked Vanity a lot and hope to see more of her in future stories. I can't wait to read the stories of the other couples.

No Limits is the first book in author Lori Foster¿s Ultimate ser

No Limits is the first book in author Lori Foster’s Ultimate series and starts with Cannon, a character we met in her Love Undercover series. Let’s just say I fell in love with Cannon immediately and was eagerly waiting for his book….and it was everything I had hoped for and more!
MMA fighter Cannon Colter’s fighting career started early on in life…out on the streets. He was the one always trying to keep the scum off his streets and away from his neighbors. He was the vigilante with a sense of honor and respect. Add that to being handsome and having a killer physique and the ladies loved him as much as the bad guys hated him. Yvette was one of those ladies. He had always had an eye for her but at the time she was too young. Legal, but young. Making matters worse was she and her grandfather had been the victim of a sickening crime, which Cannon had helped rescue them from, and didn’t that just add to the reasons why the timing wasn’t right. That was three years ago and even now with a successful fighting career, great reputation in his community and plans for growing his community center, he still thought of her. Fate always has a way of working things to her advantage and suddenly Yvette is back in town because of her grandfather’s death and as Cannon sits in the attorney’s office being read his will, he realizes he will soon be spending an awful lot of time with the woman who has haunted his memories for the past three years. Cannon wouldn’t let this opportunity slip away this time…
Steeling herself for the return to the town she both loved and hated, Yvette Sweeney was filled with mixed emotions. She had grown in the three years since she had left. Being the victim of a crime tended to do that to a gal. Sure she was worried about how seeing her old home and town would affect her but if she’s being honest, she was more unsettled with seeing Cannon again. She had always held a flame for him and she had worked hard on herself since leaving to make herself a stronger woman. Someone he wouldn’t have to worry about and fret over like he had before she left. She wasn’t the scared girl she was before. The question was, would it make a difference? It was time to face the music, head home, get her grandfather’s affairs in order and hopefully leave with her heart intact.
With so much history between them, would the time apart prove to be something of good or did it damage the friendship and attraction they both felt back then?
Oh man, if I didn’t already love Cannon from the pervious books, I sure as hell would love him now. This book was fantastic. Yvette has really changed from the last time we saw her and she has turned into one hell of a strong woman. She’s got her head held high and has tried to turn what happened to her into something to learn from. She was a very admirable character to read and I enjoyed her a whole lot. Now, as for Cannon, what can I say? He is the ultimate protector with a fierce loyalty to the people he holds close. Yvette being one of them. I loved everything about him. He has a quiet danger lurking underneath his handsome exterior and people know not to mess with him. He gets results, more often than not, just by eluding to the damage he is capable of….which comes in handy more than a few times in this book. Someone isn’t happy with Yvette being back in town and even though she wants to prove that she can handle whatever comes her way, he refuses to let her do it alone. Problem is, the dangers keep mounting. Which leads me to the other facet of this story that I loved: the mystery behind the threats. There were more than a few people it could have been and I was really kept guessing until the very end. When we found out who it was I was shocked. Never saw THAT suspect coming. I love that “whoa” moment! Really well done.
Now, I can’t go without mentioning Cannon’s friends and fellow fighters we meet in this story. They are all fantastic with big personalities that I am looking forward to reading in future installments in this series.
This is a book that has it all…mystery, emotions, tons of heat, and great characters and I highly recommend it. Thank you, Ms. Foster, for a phenomenal read!

While this book was OK, it was about 200 pages too long. I do love Lori Foster's writing but No Limits just kept going over the same things again and again. It felt long and drawn out in the center and by the end I just wasn't that into the book anymore. I might wait until Armie's story comes out to pick this series back up. If you did read the Love Undercover series (Dash of Peril, especially you will get to see what happened to Yvette and Cannon three years later). Sadly, my favorite part was the cameo of Rowdy, Dash and Margo.

~Reviewed by FRANCESCA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog

I’m a sucker for stories where the hero has been in love with the heroine for years but she was off limits before.  In this case, Cannon has wanted Yvette for years.  Their story started when he rescues her from kidnappers back in the Love Undercover series.  It’s been now three years, she still needs to heal, but she wants Cannon to be the man she heals with.  And life throws the perfect opportunity their way to make this happen.

Cannon….I’ve wanted to read his story for a while.  Sexy bad boy, bartender, fighter.  Hero complex.  Has the makings of the type of guy I love reading about.  Now his career as a fighter has taken off.  He’s at the top of everything, his game, his rec center, his goals with the kids in his neighborhood, and now Yvette.   Cannon was my absolute favorite thing about this book!

Although I love Lori Foster’s writing and her sexy men, I find that at times it may start to seem a little too sweet/cute.  No, that’s not it.  There’s suspense in these stories, so naturally I want it to dig a little deeper.  Get a little more emotional.  Show a little more intensity.  I guess that’s it.  That was where this book fell a little short for me.  There was a lack of intensity.

I am curious to read more about Ms. Foster’s fighters in this new series, there is one in particular I have my sights set on that I’m hoping will be an amazing story.  And I’m really hoping it’s the next hero in the series since there was a hint and a setup at the end of NO LIMITS.

Wow!  Just finished this book last night!  This is one hot book!  I loved that Cannon had a lot of patience with Yvette.
She needed to realize that not all guys are the same.  I like that Cannon and his MMA buddies are a close knit
group.  It shows that everyone has family whether they are blood or not.  Looking forward to the next book.

This is the first book I've read of Lori Foster's and I loved it. It was written well and great story. I especially liked how she yied in the other characters from previous books and set up the characters for future books. Can't wait for the rest of the series. I am now going to have to read all the rest of her books.

    4.5*
I have loved all of Lori Foster's book and this one did not disappoint. I'm not a fight fan and I don't read a lot of MMA romance books but I've been waiting for this series since "Getting Rowdy" when we first met Cannon. I read all of Ms. Foster's Fight series and loved it. "Causing Havoc was my favorite book, love Dean "Havoc" Connor! When he was mentioned in "Dash of Peril" I might of squealed...I was alone so no one will tell on me.
Cannon Colter is such a hot alpha male and I loved everything about him. Yvette Sweeny suffered a lot of tragedy and grief in her life. She has loved Cannon since she was 16 years old and she did everything to get his attention. What she didn't know is that she had it. Cannon knew he couldn't act on his feelings for she was to young. Yvette left Ohio three years ago. Since her grandfathers death she back and determined to show Cannon that she a different and stronger person then years ago. Cannon can now act on his feelings, but he's in for the fight of his life. To make Yvette see she needs him just as much as he needs her.
We are introduced to all the key players in the series and I can't wait for the next books.

    Lori Foster's No Limits

Another knockout for Lori Foster! In No Limits we are reintroduced to Cannon and Yvette who were in Dash of Peril in which Yvette and her grandfather were terrorized by a group of dangerous men. When Yvette grandfather passes away she goes back home where she finds Cannon who is a fighter for the SBC, back from Japan. Old feelings are rekindled when these two meet again. When and ex boyfriend makes things difficult for for Yvette it is bittersweet because she feels that Cannon won't want her because she feels she is broken. Yvette she finds she not only has Cannon support but the other fighters also. We meet Armie and Denver whose stories I am looking forward too, as they try to figure out Cannon's sister and her roommate. Lori Foster creates characters that are tough and yet full of emotions that simmer just below the surface. Her characters are imbued with real feelings that make them all the more real. This is a great start the this new series. While waiting for the next book I recommend her novella Hard Knocks. Of course you can't go wrong with any of her books. I haven't read one yet that I didn't enjoy.

Wow!  Lori Foster does it again with a new series!!

This author has yet to leave me wanting.  I was so excited for Cannon and Yvette's story ever since they popped up in the Love Under Cover series (You haven't read that series yet??? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!) Cannon was first sighted in that series at Rowdy's bar, then Yvette and himself were more involved in Dash of Peril.  You do not need to read Dash of Peril to understand the troubled past Yvette had or how Cannon saved her.

They come back in No Limit's with a bang!  Poor Yvette's Grandfather has died and she has to come back from "hiding out" in CA.  Cannon is in her Grandfather's will so he must also come back to tie up loose ends.  However Cannon doesn't just want to tie up loose ends after he reunites with Yvette.  He wants her all to himself.  I love how Yvette is obviously a stunner in the looks department but yet has no idea what so ever that she is hot.  Lori also through a twist in their with Yvette's "little problem" with men.  I love how Cannon helps her through that *wink, wink*  He does have the patience of a saint as they call him in the ring. Especially when it comes to Yvette. She doesn't want to have to lean on him and look weak, of course he wants her to lean on him.

You get to meet more of the fighters in this series which of course has me intrigued for the next books to come.  I also love how the Love Under Cover characters  show up through out this series too!

The steamiest romance ive read in a long time....

This is my first novel by this author. How that is possible now that I know how great she is beyond me. This was the first in a new series for her and i cant wait for the next one.

The two main characters are Cannon and Yvette. Cannon is the quinesential alpha male. Protective, a touch possessive, sweet and oh so sexy. Yvettes character was lacking and inconsistant. However, the romance was the steamiestive read in a long while. Also, the supporting male characters who play Cannons MMA buddies stole the show. (Armie....oh man) The banter between Cannon and his friends had me grinning like a fool and anticipating the next books where they will get their own stories. Id like to have my own Cannon or Armie please...so hot.

Love the new MMA Series...Cannon and Yvette have so much history

Love the new MMA Series...Cannon and Yvette have so much history and so much love to give each other all they have to do is believe.  I thought the story was well written and I really enjoyed how all of the fighters have become such a family and take care of each other.  I guess I am going to have to be patient and what for the next book in the series.  I don't think you would be disappointed if you like hot guys, great love scenes,  a little fighting, a little heroism this is the book for you.

As soon as I saw No Limits by Lori Foster was about an MMA fight

As soon as I saw No Limits by Lori Foster was about an MMA fighter I knew I had to request that arc. I’m pretty sure even if I had been rejected for an arc copy I would have purchased this one on my own. It looked that good.

If you’re looking for a hot and protective MMA fighter to lust over, this book hits the spot.

Overall Review: 4 Stars – Kept telling myself “just one more chapter.”

I loved and hated No Limits at the same time. I really enjoyed myself while reading and I didn’t want to put it down, but there were just a few things that bugged me. First, I continuously felt like I was missing something. There is an obvious back story involving both Cannon and Yvette from three years ago, but I have no idea what. I thought there was a .5 book that I was missing with their story, but that book seems to be about another couple and had happened recently so I don’t know if it would have contained their story from three years before.

Their past story was given to us, but it took a long time, jumped around in the time line of the story and was more of hints and peeks rather than a full telling of what happened. Basically it was just annoying.

The second thing was Cannon’s behavior in the beginning of the book. He was so nervous and excited at the possibility of seeing Yvette again (after three years), but then he made plans to take another chick home? Regardless of whether or not that action happened he was still planning it. I don’t know, I just like my heroes to be a little bit more ‘taken’ by my heroines right from the get go. I’m not looking for insta-love (hell no), but you shouldn’t be planning to see one girl while thinking about taking a different one home. Can we say sleazy?

I did end up liking Cannon and he does make up for his previous ‘falters’, he was sweet and a bit swoon worthy. By the end of the book I was pretty much in heavy like with him. I loved his protective nature. Cannon and the book in general were able to hold my attention more towards the end after we had their back story details.

No Limits was a solid 4 for me, but had we had more of those story details I wanted in the beginning it could have been an even higher rating. If you’re looking for a hot MMA fighter this one is a book to check out.

I did receive an arc copy of No Limits in ebook and paperback form.

I am absolutely loving Foster’s new series.  This novel is emotionally and psychologically intense.  It’s also fun, exciting, and suspenseful.  I found myself at the edge of my seat, needing to know what would happen next.  Foster brings forward some very difficult and potentially disturbing subjects in a realistic yet tactful manner.  She creates a bridge between them and her readers, allowing us to understand and empathize.  This is all wrapped up in a hot and steamy package that will have you drooling.

Foster has me in the palm of her hands with her MMA men.  She piques your interest with a bunch of intense Alpha type men who can definitely hold their own.  She develops her main characters in such a way that you can’t help but love them.  You get to know them in both the past and the present, allowing you to fully understand all aspects of their relationship.  You also get to know them individually, and come to love them.  The supporting cast was also very well done.  I love how you get to know them without having them overshadow the main characters, but still seeing where they may reappear in the future.  Also, the cameos of characters from past series definitely put a smile on my face.

This novel is definitely going in my re-read pile.  My copy will be very well worn in short order.  I can’t wait to see more of Cannon and his MMA pals.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
