Lynsay Sands

Lynsay Sands is the nationally bestselling author of the Argeneau/Rogue Hunter vampire series, as well as numerous historicals and anthologies. Good To Know

1.) I started The Deed (my first romantic comedy and the first book to be published) a year after my mother's death. I was very close to my mother and the year following her death was about the most miserable time imaginable. But then I decided I was tired of being down and unhappy, and looked around for something to lift my spirits and make me laugh. When I couldn't find anything, I decided to sit down and write my own. It worked! Emmalene and Amaury's antics in The The Deed had me chuckling as I wrote.
2.) I met my husband in New York in July 2003. I was there because of the RWA conference and he was there on vacation. The first day there we kept running into each other and chatting in front of the hotel, and then he asked to join our group (it was very brave of him. He was the lone male amongst six or seven women, lol). He's a Brit and I'm Canadian and the first two months of our relationship were conducted by phone as well as over the internet. Our first date was a week in New York in September, followed by three weeks in England. He then came to Canada in both November and December, the first time to propose and the second time for Christmas with my family and then to take me back to England with him for New Years. I lived in Northern England for two years. We married in New York and now live in Canada.
3.) I was writing about my husband before I met him. Single White Vampire came out in September 2003 and I took a copy with me to England when I went for the three weeks. I walked into my now-hubby's house to find at least six months worth of mail unopened and stacked up on a shelf inside the front door. When I stopped dead, eyes going wide with shock and asked "My God. That's mail. You don't open your mail?" He looked embarrassed and muttered some explanation about bills automatically being paid by the bank so no need to open those and everything else was unsolicited and he couldn't be bothered. When I burst out laughing, he started to frown and said "What?" My response was to dig out the copy of Single White Vampire and hand it over with the suggestion he read it. The mail thing wasn't the only similarity he had to Lucern Argeneau. There are many more and when he sat down to read the book, he kept stopping and turning a rather startled and even suspicious gaze my way and muttering that this sounded familiar" or that did. I had to point out that it really was coincidence, that I had written that story at least nine months before meeting him. LOL.

    Really good

    I have loved Lynsay Sands books in every way. I have all of them. This one however, is one of her best works. The storyline was fantastic, funny, intriguing, and as always Lynsay!!! I put this one up there with The Accidental Vampire and The Deed. One of her best!!! Luved it!

    Huh?

    I don't know why this book got such great reviews. I thought the book was soooo slow, but if you wanted to know how thee carnival workers lived then you were in luck! I have all of her books but i have to say i think this one was not good:( couldn't bring myself to read past pg 66!!!

    What?

    I love all Ms Sands books. This one is no exception. The ONLY reason this isn't getting 5 stars is that the book ended in the middle of a scene and the plot was not concluded.

    What is up with that?

    Great book but that was IT??

    Great book as always but MAN never been so dissapointed at one of the endings of her books, dont get me wrong it was a happy ending but ended SO FAST took me completely off guard. It completely left me hanging... what about the carnie family...what about so and so... WAY too many issues left open, it almost felt like she didnt feel like writing about the rest and just ended it super quick on a happy note... I really hope we see a conclusion in another of her upcoming books, Im sure we will. Aside from that abrupt ending it was a great book. Definitely worth the read, it was so funny and the chemistry was great between the two. Poor Marcus had a rough go of it. Lol.

    LOVE it!

    I was looking forward to more "activities" however I understand why there weren't given the main characters prev history. Also lots of detail were left out and it ended abruptly. Hopefully my questions will be answered next book!

    Lynsay Sands¿ ¿Vampire Most Wanted¿ is the 20th book in her Arge

    Lynsay Sands’ “Vampire Most Wanted” is the 20th book in her Argeneau Series, and I stayed up all night binge reading it last night. The plot and characters are great again. Sands always makes up great new plot elements, so even though there have been so many books in the series, it doesn’t feel repetitive. Each story of how the lifemates come together and were made for each other is different and special. My one complaint is that there wasn’t enough hot lifemate sex in this one. I could have stood some sexy lifemate erotic dreams and about 6 more hot sex scenes. Overall though, pretty good and I couldn’t put it down because it had great characters and a great flow.

    I like it

    I liked it. Lynsay, is not one of those writers whose books I run out to get, but it is a nice read. The storylines are pretty similar, and I rarely am surprised by the story beginning, middle or ending.

    Loved this book!  Not only did it have it contain the with and steaminess that have become a trademark of the series but it has a slightly dark edge to it.  It ended much too soon because I really want to know where Basha goes from here.  Can't wait for the next book to see how her story plays out.

    Oh Ms. Sands what is happening to this series I love?  The last two books have just felt off, almost as if someone else is writing the story. I love this series because it is fluff, a light-hearted quick read that will make me laugh with its silliness.  Sure there have been some darker more serious stories mixed in, but on the whole I read this for the wit, humor and craziness.  I know Sands has three more books in the works for this series and I will read them, I’m not driven off yet, but I hope the are better then the last two.




    This is probably the darkest book in the series to date, much of the story dealt with some pretty gruesome events from the Divine/Basha character’s past,  and the things she had to endure  don’t easily lend themselves to slap-stick humor.  So I can see taking a more reserved approach to the book and keeping the silliness to a minimum.  Still it just didn’t feel like and Argeneau book for most of the story.




    Like the last book the chemistry between Divine/Basha and Marcus felt forced.  Even the supporting characters in the book noted how they needed to spend some time together just bonding.  Being that they were both immortals they accepted the fact that they were life-mates pretty quickly, but I don’t think that was the only problem. I just don’t think I cared for either of them very much.  Again Divine/Basha did have that awful history, which did explain some of  the quirks in her personality. I liked Marcus marginally better, but not much,  I just had trouble finding reasons to root for him to get his girl.




    The bad guys were well written as they definitely came off as psychopaths that needed to be staked and left out in the sun.  Not much was resolved in regards to them, so I’m sure they are going to be with us for the next few books.  This story actually took us back to an arch that was begun many books ago, back to events that begun about mid series in books 9-12.  While it is nice to go back and wrap up some of those loose ends, perhaps a bit too much time has past.  We do get quite a bit of history to come out in this story though, just most of it was really, really awful.  Not the writing, but what took place to these characters.




    It wasn’t all bad, there were moments I really enjoyed and I’m glad I did read the book.  I just won’t be reading it again when I get around to re-reading the series.  I did enjoy seeing some old faces from previous books, my favorite as always being Lucian.  His scene at the very end almost bumped the book up to a three star rating, but in the end I couldn’t give it the extra star based on the last 15 pages of the book.  If you are a long time fan of this series, read the book, you will get some good information from the past.  If you are new to the series, go read some of the earlier books they are a lot more fun.
