Overview

The hotly anticipated second book of the Crossfire Trilogy continues the sensual saga of Eva and Gideon that began in Bared to You…the New York Times bestselling novel of “EROTIC ROMANCE THAT SHOULD NOT BE MISSED” (Romance Novel News).

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...

SYLVIA DAY YOU ARE SIMPLY AMAZING!!

To say that REFLECTED IN YOU was high in drama would be an understatement. The emotional highs and lows in this book made me want to reach for that bottle of TUMS and start popping them like Tic-Tacs. Eva and Gideon's relationship has been one major train wreck that I have not been able to tear myself away from. In essence, Eva and Gideon are two people who have no business in being in a relationship, especially with each other. But even when there are so many odds against them, Eva and Gideon fight tooth and nail to hold on to a love and relationship they're addicted to and desperately need.

Even with all the drama that unravels in this book, I still believe that Eva and Gideon really do belong to each other. Some say that two wrongs don't make a right but in Eva and Gideons case, they absolutely do. Yes, their relationship is dysfunctional and stressful but their undying love for each other is undeniable. As flawed as they are, their union only makes sense and honestly there aren't many people in the world who would be able to put up with all of their issues. As per the usual, Eva played the jealous and feisty girlfriend which only made me like her more. I give her props for wanting to claim her man and I really admired her for having balls of steel for confronting Gideon's mother, Corinne and Dr. Lucas. As for Gideon...well y'all already know how much I love this man but after reading Reflected in You my love for him even went deeper. He's protective, commanding, and over-bearing as ever and the depths he will go to for Eva will leave some of you quite shocked. Without giving away any spoilers, I was shocked to find out Sylvia Day took the path that she did with Gideon. I had my feelings about it and wouldn't have doubted it but HOT DANG, Miss Day went "there" and left me with my jaw dropped.

While REFLECTED IN YOU might leave you emotionally exhausted, the roller coaster ride that is Eva and Gideon's relationship is completely worth the pain and suffering. For a popular series like Crossfire with fans who are so engrossed with the characters, Sylvia Day definitely had her work cut out for her follow up to Bared to You. With Reflected in You as one of my mostly anticipated reads for 2012 I am more than happy to state that Sylvia Day more than delivered in this sequel. The emotional highs and lows, intense, passionate and explosive love scenes, and that jaw dropping ending are just a few reasons why this book is one of my favorites from this year (along with Bared to You, of course). If you were a fan of Bared to You, Reflected in You is definitely one book you'll want to get as soon as it hits shelves.

    I Love Gideon!

Gideon wins hands down! Sorry Christian(50Shades), Sorry Edward(Twilight), Sorry Romeo(Romeo&Juliet). Every man who says he will go the extra mile for his woman needs to compare notes with Gideon. Gideon is making it hard for my husband. I swear I just look over at my husband and shake my head with disappointment.

Like 50 Shades, but more grown up...

The female lead in this story is more adult, more traveled. It also doesn't include as much dark play. The wording of the sex scenes is more realistic to me than in 50. I think I fell more for the couple in 50, but as this story went on, I started falling in love their mess too. Can't wait to check out the next one.

If This is the Fantasy, We All Need Major Therapy

It's always strange to have a completely different reaction to a book than most other reviewers, but I thought this book was terrible. Having just finished Bared to You a week ago, I was curious to see how their relationship would evolve. It doesn't. The problem for me is how far from reality Eva and Gideon's relationship is (and yes, I realize we all read these kinds of books for the fantasy). In real life, if we had a friend whose new boyfriend had her followed, made a copy of her house key and created an exact replica of her bedroom in his apartment, we'd urge her to get a restraining order because none of that is acceptable behavior. But because it's this book, somehow it's all so romantic. Gideon is secretive, controlling and possessive. Eva is no better, tracking his activities via Google alerts, snapping his pics whenever he's seen with another woman so she can confront him later with the evidence and storming into his office to fling hysterical accusations at him. I don't think they went five pages without some new drama setting them off again. Finding someone who loves us passionately is one thing, but Eva and Gideon cross the line into obsessiveness, and that's not healthy. And then what he does at the end of the book for her... how is that okay and not just plain crazy, especially how pre-meditated it all was? At some point, Eva says to herself that she and Gideon are both the worst thing that ever happened to each other and the best. After reading this book, they're the worst. Period.

The first book hook you, this will posses you!!!!

many people commented that this series was an imitation of 50 shades and sorry to tell you is not! yes it does has little similarities but that's it, the rest of the story has a more mature point of view ,better writing by far, and the characters have situations that are more real than we want to believe (child abuse) this character have to overcome both issues to be free and break the chains of the past ,Sylvia Day is a professional writer that makes the difference with 50 shades author that is an amateur (nothing wrong with that) but you notice and makes it more enjoyable ,the series is strong erotica, with hot spicy steamy scenes , with Eva being insecure and passionate, mature woman that knows what she wants, and Gideon: sexy, powerful mogul, dominant and jealous ,control freak but he moves earth and heaven for Eva , who wouldn't want a man like that!!! A must read for mature and adults only!!!!

    Copied...

I feel like I need to go back and recomment on Fifty Shades's reviews and give thanks to originality and refraining from plagarising... And at almost ten bucks for the book?!?! Wow, author definitely was on her high horse there!! Can we get reimbursed for lack in quality?

    Disappointed

I don't feel like these characters are developed at all. We've made it through two books and barely learned more about Gideon other than he was abused. She's become pitifully reliant on his every smidgen of attention. I read the entire book with my brows furrowed, and it took me less time to read all three 50 shades books. The sex is even a disappointment, frequently ending after two thrusts, or in his pants! She dragged out 230 pages, then poured info into the last 20 to leave readers feeling satisfied and wanting more. Just disappointed.

    TOO MUCH!

The only way to describe this book is saying that it was too much....too much drama, too much back and forth between E & G...I love you, I hate you, I need you, I want you, stay away, I can't live w/o you. Her "friend" from the past with the band and the song was too much, that could have been left out. I did a lot of eye rolling while reading this book AND that even became too much. I think I've expanded too much on this review. :)

Bestseller? Really? Sadly, this signals a societal decline, not moral but intellectual. By the way, anyone want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge?

    I hate bad sequals!!!

I liked book one because Eve was strong and not the love sick, I can't live without you type. In this book Eve is weaker than weak! She won't stand up for herself, she is swayed and subdued by EVERY look or kiss. Honestly, it is ridiculous! I kept hoping they would just break-up already! I will not be waisting any more time on this series!!!
